Best thing is there’s finally a book for beginners to learn to piece a lapquilt . A lapquilt is about72” L x 46”w it goes from my neck over my feet -Great for snuggling under, in front of the TV! It’s a great way for a beginner to learn! She even has a book for kids! There are matching U-Tube videos for her to walk you through it start to finish. And her website sells fabric the kits! All you need is a rotary cutter and rulers with a sewing machine & straight pins. I learned how to piece quilts with Fabric Cafe and Ms Robertson! Her directions are clear and precise. Buying the bundles of books saved me money and I plan on making every one of her patterns into lap quilts.

Fabric Cafe books are nicely written and well proofed for clarity and completeness. Highly recommended books for quilters of any experience! Looking forward to obtaining more such Fabric Cafe bundles.

Our quilt guild makes many donation children's quilts, so these 3 yard patterns make it so easy to pull fabric from my stash and get a quick and easy top made up without searching for a pattern. I have already made five quilts from these books. They are simple and quick to make. I love the fact that you only need three one yard pieces of fabric. You have very little waste. These are great for beginners. The instructions are easy to follow. I have enjoyed these so much that I have ordered the other three books in the series. Highly recommend. Also, FabricCafe has some great videos on u-tube.
