Paletas: Paletas are about..

I ran into this book by a shared link and I’m so glad I did. I’m always looking for books for my nieces and nephews that reflect their multicultural background. This story is a little gem. It has a little bit of everything. It is very colorful and I love the way the characters are talking in Spanish although the book is in English! Even my grandmother who doesn’t speak English can follow along. I love the relationship between the boy and Paletero too.

Love! All can appreciate a story of family, friendship, and work ethic. A children’s book that can be loved by all ages. A reminder that street vendors have a story & family of their own worth recognizing. I also liked that the book is in English but the characters are talking in Spanish with dialogue bubbles. Clever!

This is a heartwarming story that appeals to children of all ages! It talks about love and family, while representing Latino culture! My four year old loved having me read it to him. Each page is filled with vibrant colors and images. There are bilingual sections and bubbles with words in Spanish. It is an excellent read! I highly recommend it!!

This is a great children's book for English/Spanish speaking young readers. The book is about family, love, truth, and America's past -time.......baseball! This will hook all kids, but especially young male readers. Get a copy today! J

This was a lovely book! I bought this for my niece, who is learning Spanish, and she loved the vibrant colors. I really enjoyed reading the story with my niece and looking at the little phrases they said in Spanish.

My children really enjoyed it. It is a great story with vibrant illustrations and I enjoyed the main character Gabriel and his love for friends, family and of course paletas!

I bought this book for my daughter, but it reminded me of my own childhood. The connection to baseball is awesome.
