My Favorite Base Layer - PI Does it Again!!
I'm starting to sound like a broken record, but I really have been pleased with all of my PI purchases. This one is absolutely no exception. I was really enamored with my PI thermal base layer. But at times it was too warm for the thermals so I opted to try the Transfer out just out of PI's reputation. From the moment I put it on I was impressed. The layer is form fitting, which is great. It also feels great to the body, wicks off sweat and keeps me amply warm even on those annoying chilly days when you can't tell if you should wear more or less. This one worked well in the following combinations. I use it with a short sleeve jersey for those cool early fall days/nights (around windy low 60 days or high 50s). I used this with a long sleeve race jersey for those low 50s days/nights. For 40s or so I wore this base layer with my PI pro softshell jacket. In the 30s or below I plan on using this with a long sleeve jersey and jacket combo. On all occasions, I felt plenty warm and comfortable. I can't recommend this base layer enough (For the record I bought another one after enjoying the first one so much).

Great base layer
This is my first proper baselayer (not much need for one most of the year in SoCal) and I love it. It's perfect for our crazy hot-cold-hot-cold weather. I've used it in everything from low 40's to low 70's and it was comfortable in all conditions. My only complaint is that the sleeves were too long for me, but that's only because I'm stuck right between a small/medium . Otherwise the fit is great and it does its job perfectly. Love it.

Keeps you warm when it matters.
I cycle a lot, or at lest I try to do it as often as I can. Biking to work has become routine and during the toughest winters this long sleeve base layer is exactly what I needed to maintain warmth and most important dryness. Sweat is wicked off your body and if you have the correct layer above this it should be wicked away or evaporate very quickly. I use Icebreaker clothing on top of this but any cycling clothing should be capable of doing the same.Works great and like any cycling clothing it fits snugly to your body, which is what you want if you expect it to work for you.

just received it...
I found this item while searching the pearl izumi merchandise for women's gear. I was rather confused when I opened the box just now and saw that the shirt is technically a man's shirt. I didn't think I saw it specify men's on the page and looking back on it now I realize that it doesn't say either way. I should have picked up on the fact that the two reviewers are male but I apparently didn't pay attention. This is not that big of an issue. I can still wear the shirt however the sleeves are a bit too long. It would have been helpful to know when purchasing this in that women's clothes have a different, more form fitting fit that is obviously smaller overall.I have not worn it yet to comment on it how warm it is.

Quality PI product
Love the way this fits. It's a large, I'm 6ft, 165lbs and it's rare to find something form fitting with long enough arm length. I received as a gift so not sure what the proposed usage is but I'd say it would not work well as a thermal layer. Perhaps a layer under a rain jacket on a moderate temperature day. When I put it on it instantly feels like it's wicking and seems like it would work well for spring skiing or something where it is cool but not cold.

Worth the price
This has been a great addition to my riding wardrobe and has made cold weather (for the Sacramento/Folsom area anyway) rides much more enjoyable. We don't get East Coast or high country cold weather here but my experience so far is that this Baselayer and a long sleeve Jersey does the trick during 2 hour+ rides in low 40's-low 50's temperature range. I can't speak to how it would work in sub 40 riding conditions and I have no intention of finding out. California has a way of spoiling you that way...

Another great Pearl iZUMA product
Another great Pearl iZUMA product, but the medium was a little on the tight side for me, but does fit. I ordered a second large as for a little looser version and will have to see how that fits, but it has been cold lately and have found this one to work well when I were it with another similar base product over the top, and the my jersey.

Very nice for moderately cold weather
I've bought several of these, and found that I'm comfortable with one of these and a light windbreaker down to the low thirties (for rides of up to two hours; I don't have time for longer rides, so I don't know the limit). In the twenties, I'll put a heavier jacket (pro soft-shell) or heavier baselayer (PI thermal or sub sports cold) on. But I'm quite happy with these.
