MIA Rescue: LRRPs in Cambodia

Best Vietnam War book ever.
This has to be the best written book on the Vietnam War. As a veteran of that war I appreciated the way the author educated the reader on the make up of the military units, their history and their locations in Vietnam at the time of this incident. The author also educates the reader on the Cambodian invasion, a subject that has not been written about very much. The individual soldiers are very well described and the reader gets to know them and the reader can understand why the men reacted the way they did. Apart from being very brave, they were "just themselves". The war brought out the best in them. Finally, I found the book very easy to read, it flowed very smoothly while painting the picture, throwing in some history and educating the reader about the war, the units, the procedures and the men.I have read many non fiction books about my war in order to better understand what happened to me. This has to be the best book that I have read about my war, the American War in Vietnam. My thanks to the author whose other books I have also read.

Good account of an event involving one unit during the excursion into Cambodia during the Vietnam War
Well written great account of a unit of the Army's excursion into Cambodia and the rescue effort to bring out a small patrol who encountered the NVA in their Cambodian sanctuary. I remember when the Army with into Cambodia with restrictions on how far and how long which was announced to the world by our sometimes questionable leaders. Like we Marines in I-Corps they suffered from stupid restrictions on how to win but in spite of that showed love and dedication for fellow soldiers while putting their lives on the line to rescue them. I enjoyed reading this book and can recommend it as good reading to anyone who would like to gain information on one of the events of the Vietnam War. I also like that the author didn't appear to embellish or condemn, he just wrote his learned view of what happened.

Really good
Well written account of LRRP combat action. Interesting throughout with testimony that puts the reader in the middle of the firefight. Heroic actions that can only be inspired by friendships not found in times of safety. Definitely worth reading. God bless these men.

Excellent read
This is well written and gives an incite into the war I never knew. I watched it play out in the news and had a brother who served three tours in Vietnam. I want to learn as much as I can about what he went through and this book gives some help.

An excellent account of covert operations during the Vietnam War.
An amazing account of a little known group of professional and extraordinarily brave soldiers and their assets during the Vietnam War. If you are interested in military history; read this jaw-dropping account of personal bravery and survival during covert military operations

Good Book
Thanks for writing this book. You've done a great job. I'll be looking for any more that you write on the same subject.

What's with the stupid definitions?
The story was great, but the mostly incorrect/inaccurate descriptions/definitions of different terms/phrases totally detracted from the credibility of the story and the author

MIA Rescue
Great read! I learned more about LRRPs and the Vietnam War through reading this book. I am thankful to have men like these serve as my mentors later. Air Assault!

Interesting
This is an interesting story with a heart felt message of "lest we forget". However there is quite a lot of repetition and the material is a little thin. The invasion of Cambodia is a subject about which little has been written. This text doesn't add a great deal to that story but it does illuminate some of the realities of combat in South East Asia in the 1970's.
