Used them for a trip to Seattle. The luggage was opened on the return trip but no damage to the locks. This is the way to go. I don't like traveling with no locks.

it's the next best thing to use on your luggage when there is no safe deposit in your hotel room....it gave me a sense of security that the hotel room attendant will not be able to snoop what's inside my luggage

Used this lock for my on flight bag, it was hard to use and find the location of the red line while flying. Also, one lock got snapped off from my main suitcase, possibly when it was thrown out after the flight.

Had no problems at the airport.

I bought 2 packs (of 2 each) for a total of 4 locks. 3 out of 4 simply didn't work. I followed the directions very carefully (I have used this kind of combination lock before). 2 of them are now permanently locked, the code that I set does not work. 1 is permanently in the "open" position, but will not lift up so I can swing it around and lock it. All of them have tumblers that sometimes move easily and other times are very hard to twist. I only hope the company will pay for my return shipping, as otherwise it is not even worth returning them. I'm past my return window on Amazon (didn't get around to opening the package for a little while) so it's not really Amazon's fault. I will try to deal directly with the company. Ugh!

I bought some red print luggage for a friend (my best friend of more than 30 years) to take to Maui on a trip we are taking together... I thought the red TSA locks were a perfect match. (Her favorite color is red) The other side is of this is that the red color stands out.. it is easy to see and access. These particular locks have a three number lock - I actually prefer the 4 digit option, but these work.

As other commenters have written, although the lock is supposed to be approved by the TSA, my lock was cut off and removed from my bag. No notice was given stating that my bag had been inspected, so I can't claim the guarantee. Best to just save your money and hope no one steals anything.

dont need the code to open these , just pry it and it will open.

I bought these for our holiday to the USA after reading advice to get TSA approved locks (rather than leaving luggage unlocked, or using locks that the TSA could destroy). These are sturdier than previous padlocks that I have used on luggage, although I'm not sure they would stand up if someone really wanted to get into your luggage. As an added bonus, the colour is nice and bright and helped us to spot our luggage on the carousel. All in all I am very pleased with this purchase, it gave me peace of mind that my luggage was locked whilst it was out of my control but was compliant with TSA guidelines.

I bought these for a family trip to the USA, having read that the TSA will use their "master key" to open this type of padlock and then lock it on again instead of just cutting off the padlock. Sounded great. I had a major problem with the padlocks which was that if you put any pressure on the shackle while spinning the dials to lock the padlock (which is very easy to do if you're holding the padlock in one hand) it would often reset the combination to something different from what you originally had - in other words it went into combination-reset mode at the slightest touch of the shackle. I bought 3 packs of these - 6 locks in all - and this happened to ALL of them. The only options then were to cut the lock off or try and crack the new combination - easy enough to do if you know how to, but very very annoying. My daughter went on a school trip to the US and rang me when she arrived late at night in her hotel to explain tearfully that she couldn't get into her suitcase because the combination we'd set at home wasn't working. The teacher had to cut the lock off and for the rest of her trip the suitcase remained unlocked - not ideal! The other gripe I have about this type of lock is that I "lost" 3 of them between checking my bags in and getting them back again in my outbound and return trips to the US. So it seems that TSA either ignored the special symbol on the locks and cut them off anyway or they unlocked them but just didn't bother to put them back on. When I spoke to a TSA person about it he said "They're often too busy to lock the cases again". So this is not a fault of the product but more of its unique selling point. It made me wonder why I wasted my money buying these special locks when the TSA removes them just like they would a normal lock.

I bought 6 of these locks and have two left. I tried to contact the company to get their guarantee of replacement, but could not contact them. The address I had was not correct and any emails bounced back.
