Excellent sound quality and works perfectly
Received my motu audio express, installed the necessary software from motu’s web site and I had it working perfectly and was recording with it within 60 minutes. It has excellent sound quality and the 6 in/6 out exactly fits my needs. The cue mix software also installed without issue and has zero latency. I use digital performer on a powerful iMac and so the audio express was particularly easy to incorporate into my studio. There is even an option to allow the volume control on my imac keyboard to make fast adjustments to the master volume of my studio monitors while still running all audio thru the audio express and cue mix. Is there a learning curve? Of course - it is a very powerful and versatile piece of gear so read the manual if you want to get the most out of it.

Don't buy one!
MOTU support is garbage. I bought this, thinking it was a good buy, but the unit had problems right off the bat. I think I was sold a broken unit. Never worked once and MOTU wouldn't help me. Seems like a common problem with these interfaces when I browsed through forums, but MOTU support denied any such problems.

MOTO Biulds a solid product
This is an oustanding audio device. This does so much more than other audio interface boxes. It is a router and mixer as well as USB/Firewire computer interface. And the performance it top notch. Also, customer service is the best. I have worked with the MOTU technicians on a couple of occasions and have found them to be very helpful and responsive, even when the problems aren't directy related to their equipment but something I am trying to connect to the MOTU device.

Driver not compatible with OS X (lion)
The audio interface works pretty good, but the driver is not 100% compatible with OS X 10.7 (lion).If for some reason I have to re-start the computer, it does a panic re-start. Until they fix this problem the only solution is to disconnect the unit, re-start the computer and connect the unit again.

Pile of Junk crashed my computer a few times.
Software is very 'buggy' on a Windows 7 machine. Not Compatible with Amplifi TT, and the push button volume selector is extremely annoying!When an artist is inspired to write music the last thing they want to do is have to tinker with a fussy audio interface.I tried to give it a chance but I like writing music, I can't even imagine an audio engineer liking this unit. Returning this now.

Great sounding interface
Great sounding interface. Limited ins/outs but at this price point, that's what you pay for. Had trouble getting usb to work, but the firewire was rock solid on a pc. Very nice sounding outputs. Did not test pre's.
