Wonderful book!
Wonderful book - completely uplifting and inspiring. For me it is all one needs in the way of spiritual teachings. I'm working my way through the chapters, and when I get to the end, I will start all over again until I fully absorb and live those messages.Profound and important. Thank you David Sunfellow!

Best Spiritual guide book I've ever read!
This book is fantastic. A perfect book alongside Raymond Moodys Life after life. Moodys book provides the evidence for life after death and this book provides the wisdom gained from those NDE's. This book leaves you with a clear picture of what life is all about or the meaning of life. It points out the importance of prayer, how it works etc. Both books combined though leave you with a certainty of God, rather than a mere belief in God. They provide evidence from multiple witnesses testifying to the same experiential phenomena. That to me, is hard evidence for life beyond death and God.

Nothing new here ... belief in otherworld reality
I purchased this book with some expectation that new facts would emerge from someone who has studied the NDE experience for 40 years. I found a considerable collection of NDE reports sorted according to topic such as: "Love & Life Reviews", "Heavenly Humor", "Brave, Bold & Beautiful", "Super Powers & Future Selves", "Paradise Lost", "Angels", etc.The author has heavily edited each of the experience reports of each contributor, and provides internet links to just about every chapter. The final chapter entitled "Universal Truths (v2.2)", is a list of platitudes summing up the "truths" revealed by the NDE.The content of all experiences and all author comments, as well as the final "Universal Truths" reveal the author's evidently unshakeable belief in the reality of some extracorporeal existence and continuation of consciousness after "cessation of body functions, or death, or during general anesthesia". This is not a new belief. It has been expressed by countless other authors, who at least took some trouble to analyze the properties of these experiences, which I will summarize here:1. the mind and personality of a person can separate from the physical body within minutes or even seconds after death.2. The mind continues to function at a location evidently outside the body after death of the body (e.g. out of body experience viewing deceased body)3. The personality of the person is unchanged during the OBE, as is evidenced by countless OBE reports.4. Memory of all that has happened during life down to the smallest detail is eveidently also extracorporeal, because these memories are accessed during the NDE / OBE, or a relived during life review. Many, many NDE & OBE accounts confirm this.5. The disembodied mind of the NDE'er / OBE'er is evidently immaterial because it is both invisible and able to pass through solid walls and floors.6. Very curiously, despite being immaterial, and able to even pass though solid concrete, the immaterial and disembodied mind of the NDE'er or OBE'er can hear the physical sounds of speech (not telepathic, or they would "hear" what perople were thinking instead of physical speech whose reality was confirmed upon recovery), and see things clearly with physical light waves.7. Deceased relatives "seen" during NDE's have much the same forms and personalities as during life. Seems to to indicate some form of eternal post-mortem extracorporeal existence. The author fails to even critically analyze these consistently manifested properties, but is instead steadfast in an uncritical belief in the literal reality of these experiences. Accordingly this is a book for the uncritical believer in an extracorporeal existence, and not for the serious student of the NDE. Very disappointing. I would have given it a zero star rating, but will give one star because it was easy to read and printed on nice paper.

Not what I expected
A very odd collection of “accounts” that seem to have a very religious edge

A book to read over and over again.
When life becomes too serious and you lose your humor, pick this book up and read just 1 or 2 exerpts, to remind yourself why we are here.

New Agey
Interesting that I’ve read NDE books involving the some of the same experiencers…but the other books had a more biblical focus, and served as warnings about the reality of hell for unbelievers, and the salvation that is found through Jesus. I’ve only read a few chapters, but already I can see there’s a massive New Age spin to the stories, such as an emphasis on us being divine (NO…we are fallen) and that God is becoming us, and we’re only here to learn about ourselves and experience opposition, etc. Oh, and one guy said we don’t have bodies in heaven, when actually, we do.Don’t be duped into thinking life is a free for all and that we don’t need a saviour.

Profound - all the information of what it's all about in one book.
I have studied human consciousness, science, NDE's etc for more than 30 years including research papers, and literally hundreds of books. Throughout all the research, bits and pieces, I always asked myself "but what is it all about - what knowledge did these NDE'ers bring back about the world, who we are, why we suffer, what the other side is like?"This book answered ALL my questions. It provides personal and profound insights from people who have experienced it all first hand - and they give the answers to life's questions and what awaits us in their own words and as best as they can. More so, these people do not know eachother. As you read these individual accounts you will see the common threads that binds them all together regardless of their religious beliefs or non beliefs. As someone who has studied the anecdotal and veridical NDE's, neuroscience, quantum physics from Penrose, Greyson, Van Lommel, Hameroff, Kaku and many others - this book is a MUST if you have always wanted the answers from the actual experiencers. As you read through the book, you will relaize that despite what the skeptics say, no one could ever make these up. The profundity is overwhelming both spiritually and from an informational viewpoint. Many are veridical giving further evidence of their validity. The NDE's dovetail so beautifully with the science we have to this point, that you will find yourself saying "ah ha!" more times than you can imagine. And then read "The Self Does Not Die". The accounts are ALL veridical.
