No problems after 10 months of regular use!
I have an old G1 640 just as a general use laptop that moves around the house from the living room to the kitchen to the garage. I got tired of having to unplug/plug the adapter and carry it with me every time I wanted that laptop in another area for an extended period (kitchen for recipes, garage for automotive help, living room for general surfing and TV watching). So I bought two more for the kitchen and garage. So far, after nearly 10 months of constant back and forth, these chargers have performed just as well as the original OEM adapter from HP that came with the laptop. They recharge just as fast as well (about two hours to full charge from a 10% charge remaining battery). Anyone having one that is not working with their laptop either didn't do their complete homework (NEVER take a product's compatibility description as fully accurate) or got a rare bad apple.

Finally - a company that actually had the right cord for my old laptop.
I tried getting a power brick and cord for an old computer from two other companies. Both times they said it would fit my model, but no - it didn't. It was a pleasure to find a cord that actually fit, was in good condition and works. The laptop may not be able to do fancy video editing or a ton of multi-tasking, but it is still fine for email, word processing and internet browsing. I hated the thought of having to get rid of something that was still functioned just because the cord got lost so I'm glad I persisted in finding the right one.

got the job done
i bought this because i had an old hp touchsmart 600 that was in storage for forever. well, i finally got a large enough memory for it to save all my pictures. however, i couldnt turn it on. i came to the conclusion that it was the power cord because the computer wouldnt make a sound at all when i tried to start it. so i bought this cord. it got the job done . the downfall is, is that its smaller then the original cord which means is over heated fairly quickly. maybe 20min of use before is shut down on me. i would have to wait 30min and download my pics off the computer as fast as i could before it would over heat again. its no fault to the product though. it wasnt meant for a hp touchsmart 600

HP ProBook 645 G1
Summary: Lost the power adapter, so needed to replace it. Tried a Dell 65W, and it would not work, so needed to order an HP compatible one.Pros: Good fit & finish; includes an adapter (but not needed for my laptop).Cons: None. Conclusion: At $14, rating this 5-stars.

Probook 440 G1
I had a strange problem where when plugged in to AC power my laptop was extremely slow. Replacing the power supply fixed this. This item is good quality and works perfect for my old laptop.
