.These are intensely sour, I mean you almost have to stop and remove it from your mouth before you pass out and then suddenly the flavor shines through and they are great. They also work very well as a therapeutic way of grounding yourself in a panic attack. As a trained & certified therapist I recommend them.

First off, let me preface this by saying that THIS IS A VERY SOUR CANDY! I am a diehard sour addict, and I have eaten this whole 1 lb bag over the course of 3 months, and it still kicks every time. I tried this as an alternative to the extremely sour Warheads, which are also good, but give you a way shorter time of sour-ness (I guess that is a word now?). Upon popping them in your mouth, nothing really happens for about 5 seconds, and then the waxy coating wears off, and you get blasted with an awesome 30 seconds to 1 min of pure acid. Literally. If I eat more than 3 in one day, my tongue will hurt and be sensitive for the rest of the day. It's not too pleasant, so eat in moderation. The 1 lb bag is a great deal compared to the smaller, 1 oz cans that are also sold. However, due to needing to take a long time to consume it, the candies get a bit sticky in their individual packages (humidity?). It still tastes the same, but is just harder to get out of the package. Overall, this is an amazing candy for sour lovers, but may be too much for newcomers. 9/10

I did a timed test to see how long the sourness lasts vs Warheads. I’m not a sour candy fanatic at heart, but I am trying different ones to help with grounding during anxiety attacks. Here are the results: Warheads (green): - Sourness started immediately and lasted 45 seconds, then vanished completely. - Sour level was enough to distract my brain and ground me (caused that sour face pucker, but was tolerable to hold in my mouth the full 45 seconds). - Taste was good throughout, sweet like candy once sourness was gone. Toxic Waste (green): - Sourness built up gradually for the first 10 seconds, lasted for 2 minutes, then gradually faded out for about 10 seconds before vanishing completely. - Sour level was very intense, I had to take it out of my mouth a few times (I stopped the timer when I did). Definitely distracting/grounding. - Taste was not good, more bitter throughout the sour phase, but ended with a sweet taste after the sour wore off. I would recommend these if your goal is extreme sour that lasts a long time. I would not recommend for taste alone. Candy was hard and did not arrive melted.

Not sure if these lived up to the hype! They were very sour, but I expected more of a punch.

Ok... I'm not a doctor and I'm NOT giving medical advice. However, I personally suffer from panic attacks brought on by unknown triggers. I do have prescribed medication for when they get bad. But I sometimes use these as a "first responder" when I feel an attack coming on. The EXTREME sourness is sometimes enough to re-focus my brain and disrupt the anxiety signals. You can achieve the same effect by biting into a lemon, popping an ice cube in your mouth, or any number of other sensory things. But those are hard to carry with you... These are super easy to always keep one or two with you just in case you need something randomly throughout the day.

Kids love them, very sour and then sweet. Big hit with all the littlest in our neighborhood.
