Squier Affinity Series Telecaster Electric Guitar, with 2-Year Warranty, Butterscotch Blonde, Maple Fingerboard

I can put this one down it’s become my go-to guitar. I’ve been a Squier fan for many years and this one lives up to my expectations. The packaging was secure and well-packed to ensure no dings. The neck plays very well and action was great right out of the box. No truss rod adjustment needed at all. Frets are smooth with no jagged ends. The neck is a satin- finished, slim C shape and body finish is astounding- beautiful butterscotch blonde with a beautiful gloss. This has a belly cut that makes it very comfortable to play. The bridge is a modern style vs the ashtray style. I prefer the one on this because it’s easier rest my palm. The modern bridge saddles make intonation and string height adjustments easy. The strings also go through the body, which adds a more full, crisp sound. The tuners are good and there weren’t any issues. I put D’Addario locking autotrim tuners on all my guitars but if I couldn’t the stock ones would be ok as they are. FYI - the D’Addario tuners I mentioned require no drilling and are direct drop-ins. The nut is synthetic bone and I found no issues with spacing. The pickups are ok and most will be happy with them. However I put in noiseless single coils. Most people love Squiers because they’re also great modding platforms and this one is no different but this one can stand on its own just as it is stick. Very fast comfy neck, decent pickups, and a great finish make this one a winner.

Budget guitars are always very hit or miss, but I've found this one to be strangely in between the two. The sound can be good or bad and tends to stray more in the direction of having good quality, but it also occasionally rings out even when you don't want it to (as is the way with single coil pickups). The main reason I dropped a star off of this though was actually because of the string gauge, I really hate that Fender likes to ship with 9 gauge strings. Thicker strings are way easier to play and snap less frequently, although that being said for the price point of this guitar I think the strings behave fairly well. I've experimented with a few other cheaper guitars, and to compare it to an Ibanez Gio I worked with before: -This has better overall sound quality but experiences more issues with ringing out because of its exclusively single coil pickups, however this can often be solved by pickup-switching to have both single-coils engaged -This guitar is a little tougher to play because of its thinner strings -Bends are much harder to perform on this guitar in my experience, but sustains and slides I've found to be a bit easier because of the string quality -Telecasters look awesome. Overall I'd give this guitar a 8.5/10, but if you're looking for something to shred on I would avoid this at all costs. As someone used to playing with humbuckers it was a little strange to get acclimated to this, however if you're seeking out a specific kind of tone from single-coils and at a cheaper price, I'd absolutely shoot for this guitar.

I've been playing guitar for 55 years or so and owned mostly American Standard Strats and a few Made-In-Mexico Strats, one American Standard Telecaster and one Made-in-Mexico Telecaster. And I bought this 2024 "Made In China" Fender Squier Affinity Butterscotch Blonde Telecaster new for $249 from Amazon. Straight out of the box, I checked out the quality build of this guitar from top to bottom and front to back. Not a single flaw in the build. Beautiful Butterscotch Blond glossy finish on the body, satin smoothe finish on the maple neck, and the frets were nicely finished. I checked it for "fret buzz" because it seemed to be set with a lower than usual string height from the factory. No hint of fret buzz. Also, all 6 strings were perfectly intonated. I usually have to adjust string height lower and set the intonation on all new Fender guitars. This one came in perfect condition! And it plays as butter smoothe as any other Fender guitar I have ever known! It also sounds amazing. No complaints from me...all praise!! WOW!

Excellent value for the money. The Butterscotch Blonde is nice and smooth. The maple neck and fret board have a nice slick satin finish. No dings or dents anywhere. Frets were smooth with no sprouting. Tuning machines are stable and turn smoothly. The six saddle bridge did need some set up, which is to be expected. Raising and lowering to match fretboard radius, as well as setting intonation. A six saddle bridge isn't a traditional three saddle ashtray Tele bridge but it allows for much finer adjustments. String through body with what feels like . 10s string gauge wise. Running through my Deluxe 112 Reverb or teal stripe Peavey Classic Chorus 212 with no effects... sounds great. "Sustain for days" and classic Tele sound. The belly cut was a nice unexpected bonus as most Teles are slab style. I think Squier did quite a nice job with this Affinity Series. Have been playing guitar for over 30 years, always Stratocasters, and had always wanted a Tele. Other folks may have a different experience but the one I received was great. Only complaint I have is that it that was "crafted in China".

Surprisingly good. Worth every penny. Not sure if just got lucky or if the quality control is doing their job. Got it from Amazon because I figured if it was garbage or wouldn't be much of a hassle to return.

I purchased this guitar in Butterscotch Blonde just about two months ago, and I have to say that it was worth every penny! As someone just trying to learn guitar, I could not justify spending upwards of $1,000 right off the bat to get into the hobby, so I started looking for affordable options. Then I found this gem, and I'm so glad that I did! I haven't found anything to negative to complain about in terms of playability, and I pick this thing up for at least one hour every single day. Granted, I've never held a $1,000+ axe before, but from my experience this is an excellent product. I chose the Telecaster specifically because after doing a ton of research I hearing about them being extremely versatile and capable of any genre that you'd want to play. Considering that I had to be careful with my budget, this was the clear choice (although I also was considering a Stratocaster). The tones that I can get out of this guitar just from adjusting the volume and tone knobs are phenomenal! Volume all the way up with tone rolled back to about 70% is my favorite thus far! The only negative that I have about the purchase (and the reason I've rated it as 4 stars instead of 5) is that I ordered it in Butterscotch Blonde, and when looking at the pictures I was expecting a bright yellow guitar to arrive. What I received was actually a brownish mustard color (see pictures attached). At first I was a bit disappointed, but after awhile it grew on me. I went ahead and ordered two straps, one brown and one purple. I can throw the purple one on to get a PB&J kind of look or use what I call the "chocolate" brown strap to play on the butterscotch theme. In either case, my guitar looks, feels, and sounds sweet! Thus I've named her, "Sugar". No matter what color you choose, I am certain that this is an excellent choice to either get you started with guitar or even to add to your collection if you've been playing for awhile and just have the urge to expand!

The only thing that makes this tele any less than $1K+ telecasters is the lack of a 22nd fret. It looks great, it plays great, I play in open E, so I had to adjust the bridge--it has 6 posts, not the very had to intonate original 3 posts--the action was high and the truss rod need a turn to tighten. The sound is vintage tele, as bright and bell like as any I have played or listen to. I got this just cause it seemed to good to be true, but I had the time and scratch to find out. I can not put it down, it is much for so little. Ink In

Great guitar!!! I put on heavier strings (10's), and then dabbed a little graphite on the nut to ease string binding. Now it tunes up perfectly. Intonation is close to being right on. I'm going let the guitar settle in before spending time fine tuning the intonation. Sounds fantastic through an old silver face Princeton! I'll never say it's as good as a "Real Tele" but that's not the issue...the issue is "is it worth what I paid for it"... The answer to that it is...Yes! Worth every penny!

Got this on promo because I had some CV pickups around and decided it would be fun to install them as they didnt sound that bad. Mine is a Chinese made 21 model - String through body and belly cut. I honestly was very impressed by this guitar. For the price I paid it is great. Sounded great out of the box with the ceramic pickups - I considered not to change them but it does sound nicer now with the CV pups. Neck is like a player series but slighlty smaller. Frets are smaller also and are kind of scratchy which could be easily fixed but I honestly didnt bother. It will go away. Colour is kind of mustard but it looks like a one piece body (!!) Very light and resonant. Poplar has some greenish veins going through it so it will not look butterscotch. Only complaint is a small ding on one of the ferrule inserts and the skunk stripe which seems to be made from not so good wood and you actually feel the imperfections when you run your fingers through it - Probably thats why it was on promo. Not a deal breaker and for the price, I'm really happy with it. Highly recommend it.

The guitar arrived earlier than expected and there are some wear and tear on the packaging but the guitar itself is in pristine condition considering I purchased it from Amazon Warehouse. No string buzzing whatsoever, the frets are all nice and smooth but I have to further tweak the string action, bridge action and the pickup heights for my playing preference. The satin C shape neck is a joy to play, the tuners keep their tune, and the pickups are excellent for the price. It did not come with a case and strap but I have no complains, this is a great value guitar!

1a vez que uma guitarra comprada via internet chega TOTALMENTE REGULADA. Braço reto, ação correta, entonação correta. Não precisei fazer nada. Saí tocando direto. Para torná-la uma verdadeira Fender, só precisa trocar os captadores (como quase toda Squier que não seja a Classic Vibe).

en cuanto al acabado, tiene algún detallito del lacado en la pala y algún parche pequeño más traslucido en el cuerpo, dificilmente apreciable, pero ahí está. Por el precio, es bastante normal. Tema aparte, la guitarra suena finisima, las pastillas y el tono en general 10/10, no mete ruido. De referencia, tengo guitarra de nylon, he tenido acústica y de electricas, la tipica yamaha pacifica y una signature de pantera, la "arrow". Si hubiese sabido lo que se ahora hubiese comprado esta guitarra, o el similar de la época y poco más. Es vérsatil y rockea tb. acústica de base suena increible, nada parecido a algo que yo haya tenido y luego bueno, en mi caso busco un sonido similar a the pillows, un sim de amp orange y un overdrive y a volar. Se me olvida, esteticamente tb es preciosa, de peso está bien, la notas al rato de pie, pero no es tan pesada como otras y me sorprendió que el cuerpo es como más fino que la convencional. De afinación aún se están asentando las cuerdas, lo tipico, pero de sustain tb me ha sorprendido, en general es increible, volvería a comprar, pero ya tengo la color mostaza, que más puedo pedir :3

Questa tele è costa poco, ma suona bene farò un pò in la l'action. Leggera è di bel aspetto.
