My daughter has been loving her new placemat, and so am I. The thick silicone provides durable containment for each compartment and keeps food items amply separated (this is helpful due me because my kids tend to be super picky about certain foods touching).There is strong suction on the bottom portion of the mat to keep it adhered to the table surface and prevent unwanted messes...also a huge plus for those of us who already clean plenty throughout the day.As well, the design is unique from other child plates, so it immediately interests the kids. It is also easy to clean; it doesn't hold debris and all leftover items simply wash off with light sponge scrubbing.Do take care not to keep wet suction on a table surface that may be damaged by fluid (wood, for example). Not only will it potentially ruin the surface, but it could also cause mold, mildew, and bacteria build-up if left for too long unattended.This mat is also great for arts and crafts time! You can divvy up various supplies to keep then from spilling over (enter beads, sequins, pom-poms, etc).I received this placemat at no cost for review.

This is a quality mat. It's heavy and sturdy enough that it's not easy to move around on the table, but still flexible and easy to use. It holds food well; I like the height of the little compartments. I will say I do wish the compartments were just a bit bigger. It washes nicely. I have only hand-washed it. I have had no problems with the color fading on it when it was washed in hot water. Sometimes products like this can have an odd smell to them, but this product has no odd smell.
