About 7 1/2" X 4 1/4". Keep in mind that you buy a Three-Gang mounting bracket to do this right. The screws that come with this plate screw into the bracket - not the wall. When you cut the sheetrock you cut it to the size of the bracket - not the plate. Ok.... so your question does not make sense. 7.2 vs 7.1 only difference is an additional subwoofer output (and most are low level, ie you would not attach speaker wire to unless you are a crazy audiophile with a separate sub amp).... The “7” in a 7.1 or 7.2 means 7 satellite speakers ‘appropriately placed’, such that spatially they can reproduce the sound as ‘intended’. So can it accommodate 2 of the 5 speaker inserts? ‘Leads (ie wires)’? Sure, this part is simply a face plate that covers a JBOX like opening
