Kershaw Link Pocket Knives, Speedsafe Assisted Opening, Made in the USA, Multiple Variations

My husband absolutely loves this knife and so do I! The handle is balanced with the blade and gives a good solid grip. Blade flicks open clean and stays closed tight in pocket. Truly the best everyday carry I’ve found and the color is subtle but different from typical grips. Made in USA with quality you can be proud of.

Wanted to try out magnacut and I think this might be the most affordable option. Came out of the box razor sharp and seems to be built like a tank. Blade has been holding an edge for the better part of a year now and I thought this as a knife to use so I think it’s a great knife.

I have many Zero Tolerance knives (the higher end sister company of Kershaw). This is like a ZT knife at a Kershaw price. The new version of this knife (the one I got) comes with Magnacut steel which is incredible. I saw this in an ad and did not know what it was called so I had to search for a while to find it. It has quickly become my favorite knife and my go to EDC. Everything about this knife I like - the aluminum blade handle, the beautiful olive color of the handle and stonewash blade coating, the sharpness, edge retention, and the incredible steel the blade is made of. This is a very good knife for this price point as you are really getting something that is value/quality wise over $200 but for around $120. I have many Kershaw knives but this one has become my favorite. I would buy this again in a heartbeat and if you are looking for a quality knife for either yourself or for a person who loves quality knives, this is worth every penny.

Made in USA and 20cv blade for under $100 I paid $85 but now it's only $73! Worth every penny and I am a big fan of Kershaw's spring assist and this has a very snappy action that is awesome with great blade lock up. Looks nicer in person. This is my best pocket knife I have ever owned. If it's a little high to pay for right now just save your money till you can because this knife is like a $200 + knife for under a $100. The blade is thin which makes it great for slicing but still robust for harder work. I have a Kershaw volt ss in 8cr13mov which is half the price of this but is a lot of money for the cheaper steel. I have a ganzo fh91 in d2 that was $26 and that is another good quality knife for being a true budget knife and this is the best one out of all of them. This is a must have knife at this price. No need to buy a zt, we, Benchmade when you get a better product at a fraction of the price.i will make a good detailed review of this and my other knives/sharpeners because there aren't many on YouTube. If you buy this you will love it and use it more than any other pocket knife. I love Kershaw they will always be my favorite high quality but affordable knives. This is the best Kershaw you can get. I also have never had a speedsafe break.

The Link is a fantastic EDC and easily one of the best values of any production knife available. The Pros: Steel: Magnacut is the most well-rounded knife steel currently available. Design: The Link’s drop-point blade makes it a good slicer, cutter and chopper. Its handle fills the palm providing numerous grip options. Action: This is a truly ambidextrous knife. The blade can be easily deployed in either dominant or weak hand. It can also be deployed while wearing thick work gloves. Country of Origin: USA. Finally, Value. Taking everything into consideration above and because Kershaw Knives always sell for below MSRP, finding another American-made knife that checks off all these boxes for under $200 will be tough. (At the time of this review this Link Model is $127.00) The Cons: Magnacut Steel is difficult to sharpen. I can’t use my Arkansas or Naniwa stones with this steel. They are too inefficient. If you sharpen your knives, you will need glass or diamond stones. The Flipper Lever: It’s sort-of like a small bird’s bill. If you enjoy fidgeting with your knives, this one starts to bite after a few dozen trigger-pulls. Ironically, it’s this “design-flaw” that makes it so easy to use while wearing gloves. Reputation. The best analogy I can give is that Kershaw is the Ford of the folding knife world. It puts out a respectable product but someone will always be quick to tell you that “X knife company does it better.” The Elephant in The Room: With all the improvements over the past few years in synthetics, bearings, lubricants, tolerances, design, and a roll back on the restrictions governing automatic knives, Assisted Opening Knives have basically become obsolete. If you want that simple, effortless, rapid deployment, just get an automatic knife. Assisted Knives add complexity, decrease reliability, add weight and are loud- just like their automatic counter-parts. The one single advantage (other than legal considerations) I see an assisted knife holding over an auto is that 99% of all automatic knives are designed for right hand deployment. This was the reason I bought the Link. I have to have the option of carrying it in my left pocket. In conclusion: I know I went off the rails on the “Assisted Opening” topic but it needed mentioning. Thanks for reading so far. I like the Kershaw Link. For the price, it offers excellent value. I really appreciate how I can use it while wearing gloves. There’s room for improvements but nothing that would prevent me from buying another if I lost mine.
