how do I remove the top of a 4 lb. copper cream jar?

I only buy small jars at a time. It really does a great job on the botton of my copper cookware. As far as opening a large jar of this cleaner I use a grip cloth you can buy at Target or places like that. It grips the top and with a little extra hard turning it ususally will open.
