San Francisco Bay Compostable Coffee Pods - Organic Haight Ashbury French Roast (80 Ct) K Cup Compatible including Keurig 2.0, Dark Roast

Most coffee snobs detest Keurig and other similar types of coffee machines. They prefer a overpour or a French press or some other fancy thing if not just grinding their whole bean coffee immediately before brewing in a regular Mr. Coffee. And there's no denying that those coffees are going to taste the best.However, most of us don't have that much time to spend on a single cup of coffee (or we're just lazy... or maybe both). And that's there the K-Cups and everything come in.I try not to be a coffee snob, but I am pretty picky. I will drink a cup for health reasons, but I'd rather enjoy it. I drink my coffee black. I don't prefer flavored coffees (although I would use flavored cream if the coffee itself is really bad).The French Roast flavor of this particular brand is one of the few that I will tolerate, and it's also one of the less pricey ones (at around $0.23 USD per cup). The other ones I tolerate are Fog Chaser and Major Dickason's dark roast, but I only buy those when they have a deep enough discount. Newman's Own isn't bad, but everything else is meh (including Starbucks, which is overpriced anyway). I'll brew 350 ml in a glass mug, and it's a good start to the morning as well as my second cup at 1pm.

Flavor and Price is all that matters to me. These pods hit the spot in these categories. The compostable feature is a nice bonus, but what does that matter here in PA where it all goes in a trash bag with all the other rubbish and into the landfill. Ho hum.I just don't like the bags the pods come in. The pods are packed in airtight compostable bags of 8 pods each, so when you use your first pod, you are losing the freshness on the other seven. The bag is impossible to open without it EXPLODING. Have you ever tried to open a difficult bag of potatoes chips where you pull so hard that when the seal releases the bag rips down the side? That is what opening a bag of pods is like. So the bag cannot easilly be used to store the remaining seven pods. About one in eight bags I manage to open without destroying it, then I can fold it closed and use a simple binder clip to keep the pods fresh. I suppose I could use scissors to open the bag, but I'm impatient when I want my morning cup o joe. So this implies that The San Francisco Bay Coffee Co wants me to use a disposable PLASTIC zip log bag to keep them fresh. See more plastic in the landfill.These pods would be a winner if the bag was easy to open or better yet if each pod was in an individual wrapper.

The coffee is great, I just don’t need it anymore. This is unacceptable to Amazon even though the package has not been touched due to the fact that I ordered a new coffee pot through Amazon and these coffee pods are not compatible. I still have time to return the coffee pot. Maybe I’ll just do that. I’ll take returns from any customers, whether they open the product or not, whether they have use the product as well. It keeps a good customer base. Since I am an entrepreneur, I’ve already gotten rid of some of the coffee they refused my return…. and for quite a profit, I might add! Way to go, Amazon! Thank you! ;)

This decaf is my substitute when I can’t get to Starbucks. I like a really strong brew and with my Keurig and the “STRONG “ button the coffee is almost perfect. I’ve recently started using a second pod as espresso. One and a half envelopes of Splenda and I have a very close runner up to my Grande decaf with 2 decaf shots, and a lot cheaper!! Highly recommend.

I'm sure it's all very nice that this coffee comes in compostable pods and the manufacturer is concerned about the environment and all that, but to me, the important thing, especially with decaf, is that it should taste as good as regular caffeinated coffee. As I'm not interested in the stimulant effect of regular coffee, the only reason to drink decaf is flavor—if you can find one that has any. I happen to like a robust, flavorful cup of strong coffee that doesn't taste like burnt mud and it's difficult to find a decaf like that, but San Francisco Bay's decaffeinated French Roast fills the bill nicely. It has the concentrated flavor of a dark roast without its usual characteristic bitterness—or that awful decaffey wateryness the decaf drinkers hate. When you open the plastic bag, the aroma of very fresh ground coffee is very pleasant, indeed. True, this brand does cost a few extra bucks , but hey, the good stuff never comes cheap.

I love the flavor of this blend! Unfortunately, when I use these in my Keurig 2.0 all of the pod rings distort somewhat during the brewing process, some so badly that the lid is ripped away from the pod and grounds fall into the Keurig brewing head requiring that I wait until they dry so that I can brush them from the brewing head and then run two batches of water through the machine to cleanse it.

I happen to be someone who “lOvEs ThE oVeR-rOaStEd FlAvOr Of StArBuCkS cOfFeE” blah blah blah nothing compares to Starbucks Italian roast IMHO but THIS. It’s half the price. Equally delishus. And compostable pods and freshness bag. Brews perfectly with no issues. Makes a fantastically strong 8oz cup with the “bite” I was missing from the Starbucks italian roast. Hopefully I will be able to continue getting it here as I am HOOKED.

I used to drink San Francisco Bay coffee all the time then for some reason I got away from it. I saw an advertisement for the French roast and thought I would give it a try. Now I can’t believe I stopped. The flavor is so much richer and bolder than what I had been drinking. I think I have tried three or four of the offerings from San Francisco Bay and they are all the same, rich, bold and delicious. I’m back to drinking it for good.

The coffee flavour is excellent, however I have tried the pods in 3 different machines and the problem I have experienced is: the concave tops are not all at a uniform depth, therefore the piercing probe on the machines do not always penetrate the pod.Water is forced around the pod , not through it. My solution is to proceed as normal and then check to ensure pod is pierced. If not poke a hole in too where piercing Mark is and you will be ok.The coffee is full flavoured and delicious which is the only reason I didn’t return.I love strong tasting coffee and this is the best decaf I ever tastedPlease tighten the tops so the piercing part penetrates every time

So my last review basically said the French roast is amazing and I was disappointed I didn't get the variety packed I ordered.This time it came!! I am BEYOND stoked to try the rest of the roast flavors because I still believe that French roast was one of the best cups I've ever had. So far I have had the French and the Rainforest and they are both just supreme!I highly recommend this coffee. It's great bang for your buck when it comes to compostable cups and yes, even the bags the pods come in are compostable.Absolutely buy it: you won't regret it!

Just received the order. Some what disappointed with the flavor. Not as strong or bold as I would've expected it to be. Tastes like it's a bit watered down!! That's brewing it on a Medium setting (med cup). We like strong coffee flavor. We drink dark roast and espressos. Was looking for a decaf with a strong flavor. It is okay, just have to brew it selecting small cup.

Words can’t explain how much I love this coffee. It’s so good. So flavourful. Absolutely amazing. I plan on ordering like 10 more boxes. Seriously. The best!!!!

Anteriormente compré el Rainforest Blend. Estaba rico, pero un tanto amargo. Este fue el cambio que necesitaba. No está ni tan ligero, pero tampoco está amargo como el otro. Las cápsulas son compostables. Mi madre las usa en su hortaliza. Así no me siento culpable cada que tiro una cápsula de café de plástico usada a la basura. El café sirve como fertilizante natural para las plantas. Muy buena alternativa a otras cápsulas. Recomiendo mucho este café.
