I use these for woodworking and carpentry projects. I have used all kinds of other pencils, mechanical, different lead thicknesses, you name it. This is by far the best I have used for my purpose. The lines are just large enough to be seen easily, but still small enough to be very precise. The lead is very durable, normally with mechanical pencils I have to get the carpentry ones with huge lead In them to keep from just breaking all the time. They are imprecise and the holders are not very nice either. This holder is very high quality feeling, and so far, I have not broken the lead a singe time. Also, the lines are nice and dark. I know it may be more expensive than some pencils you can get, but it's well worth them money. A case of getting what you pay for.
