I was pretty predictable with the kind of pizza I ate
Up until recently, I was pretty predictable with the kind of pizza I ate. Always pepperoni. Boring. After being on Nutrisystem for 3 months, I grew to love their marghartia pizza and started kind of broadening my tastes. First and foremost, I prefer thin crust, but that could be because I never had a chance to try real good fresh made crusts. This book is definitely for the pizza lover that wanted to try new flavors. It starts out with the basics and talks a little bit about the essential items you need to make the perfect pizza. It's all about getting the flavor of each topping in every bite so it suggests not to completely overload your pizza with toppings. two to three is perfect. You learn how to make many different types of crusts including cauliflower, which I've been dying to try since it's so much healthier! For each recipe there is a little color coded guide so you know if that particular pizza is nut free, vegetarian, vegan, dairy-free, and/or gluten-free. There are also fun facts and tips through the book especially tips about cooking with kids, because what kid doesn't love to help make their own pizza? Each recipe also tells you how many pizzas it makes and the size of each pizza, prep time, rise time for dough, and cook time. There is also a handy guide on how to freeze dough and use later. In addition to dough recipes, you will also find various sauce recipes. That alone should give you plenty of different options to make your own pizzas and experiment with flavor combinations. Then you get into different pizzas starting with your usual pizza parlor favorites, things like pepperoni, sausage, hawaiian. There are also recipes for more fancy pizzas like grilled clam and corn and fennel & fontina pizza with olive tapenade. There are even recipes for calzones and salads! This book is going to get a lot of use - probably more than all my other cookbooks- because I'm anxious to try new flavor and topping combinations. One thing I wish this book included was more photos! I love cookbooks with photos of the finished foods and this one was seriously lacking in that. This is the reason I took one star off. Other than that, I really enjoy this cookbook! I did receive this at no cost to thoroughly test out and provide my honest opinion. Your thoughts may vary from that of my own.

I found this book to be full of helpful information for anyone looking to make pizza. Whether you are a pizza pro, or you are someone just learning to make pizza, this book will help you get through that process. I found some super simple dough recipes that are easy to read and follow. Delicious too! I like that this book gives recipes for pizzas, but just looking through it gives me many more ideas for new topping combinations. I really like that there are vegan and dairy free options. I found that using a cast iron pizza pan to work the best with these recipes. It helps to make the crust nice and crispy! Change things up on Pizza Night with this cookbook
We like to have pizza night once a week so we are always looking for new recipes. I got this book hoping that I'd find new combinations and I wasn't disappointed. I like there are 9 different dough recipes so I can change things up. Each recipe is easy to follow and provides tips to help make it just right. I liked that this book offered tips for cooking with kids throughout the book. I like to bring my kids into the kitchen, so that was helpful. There is a good variety of pizza, calzone, and salad recipes in this book. It gives me plenty of inspiration for our weekly pizza night. Bought this as a Christmas gift....
for my grandkids to go along with the pizza stones I bought them. I included this cookbook, pizza stones and the ingredients to make their first pizza as an incentive to encourage the teenage grandkids to start learning to cook and to do something together as "family". Not to mention encourage them to eat at home more also as "family". The cookbook has a variety of recipes to accomodate gluten free, allergies, etc. so a little something for everyone.

A pizza cookbook that really is for everyone!
This is a gorgeous book! Seriously. It's beautiful! And the contents don't disappoint, either. The recipes range from the simple to the highly unique, and all the ones I tried were delicious. And thank you to the author for including the recipe for a cauliflower crust! For Paleo folks like me, that's really nice to see! I especially liked the inclusion of seasonal recipes. I tried two of them, and they were very tasty! With recipes coded for different dietary needs, this book is one that truly can work for every family. Because, really. Who doesn't like pizza? A basic to the point how-to on pizza making.
Pizza goes in to a 20 page overview of everything you need to get started: How to build, tools of the trade, prep, how to make it your own, and has other tidbits spread about. It covers all the basics you need to know to get to making your own pizza, even if you want to just buy the dough, sauce, and other ingredients. While not the most thorough, itโs enough to start getting your gears turning so that you start thinking about adding your own touch. In any case.. In to the actual dough of this book.. The remaining 160 pages of the book (minus some for a very well detailed index, resource list, glossary, etc), goes in to hundreds of detailed recipes. The meat of the details are split between how to make the dough, sauces and condiments, parlor classics, meat/poultry/seafood, vegan/vegetarian, calzones, and salads. Overall a very pleasant recipe book, and I would recommend it to anyone who has just finished building an outdoor pizza oven, or just someone who wants to add a new fun weekly dinner idea. My only gripe is that there aren't enough pictures, well; there aren't any pictures at all when it comes to the recipes. The inclusion of pictures would have netted a 5 star from me.
