Can it support a 27” monitor?

Yes it can. I wound up not using them however, My desk (Two Lifetime folding plastic tables) couldn't support the clamp type dual monitor stand that I used to mount the 27" monitors on. Being a IT professional I would use these no question at all.

Is this compatible with the dell s2721nx monitor?

If your monitor has VESA Mounting holes on the back, you would not need this VESA bracket adapter. Your Dell s2721nx should have VESA Mounting holes.
