Plenty Bright, Clear Image, and Surprisingly Quiet
Let me say first that I dropped this projector from 3 or 4 feet onto a very hard surface. I was sure it must be dead. Shook it. No rattle. Plugged it back in. No difference in the performance. Did it again a week later. Again, no problems. I'm just amazed by the durability. That said, I am happy overall, but there are a few things to be aware of. The main one is that if you're planning to use this to watch movies, even alone, you're going to need a louder sound system than the built in monophonic speaker. I'm using an old computer sound system, with a subwoofer, mixed with one of the newer Bluetooth 'sound bar' things. It fills the room and makes a huge difference. Fan is super quiet compared to all other projectors I've worked with. The built-in library of decompression algorithms is quite good. Videos I have saved from YouTube all play flawlessly. The remote control works so well, you can bounce the signal off any wall, or the ceiling, so just point it wherever and click. Overall, two thumbs up, and I would buy another in a heartbeat - for myself, or as a gift. Amazed at how much more you can get for under $200 compared to five years ago. Looking forward to trying it outdoors.

Unexpectedly Great
I held out on making a review until I had some actual hours of usage so I will make this simple. The projector is great: The picture is clear and it claims to be 1080p, I'm not an expert on resolutions, but it seems to be true. It has an audible fan, but generally the audio from my shows drown it out easily. The speaker has room for improvement but it is good. I recommend getting a nice sound bar or so. I tried to hook up my bluetooth to it, but it either failed me, or I failed it. I wouldn't suggest going for any subscriptions through your phone because many projectors seem to lock out that ability (i.e Netflix) If you are using a Firestick, Roku, or even a console (xbox/ps) with Netflix and etc, it will play just fine. I had only one issue with my use of the projector and that is the audio stopped working. I factory reset the machine and it started to work again. Not sure how that came about.

GREAT !! or is it ?
It’s a good starter projector with a great price but where this projector lacks in my opinion was picture quality and sound quality. I’d say if your wanting just an inexpensive once in awhile movie night out back or inside this won’t be bad, just make sure you have a sound bar or Bluetooth speaker to go along with it. Overall, this projector serves its purpose but if your looking for a much better experience with great picture quality and sound go for dbpowers RD828 with 20000L/500 ansi it’s a HUGE upgrade and at a good price !

Great projector for the price, a couple cons but worth it overall
I was looking for an inexpensive projector for watching tv or movies in our home office, mostly in the background while on the computer. When I received the projector, I set it up on a sturdy tripod. I purchased a Roku stick at the same time as I didn't want to hassle with issues others faced with mirroring. Pros: Price dark room brightness ease of setup/simplicity Cons: size adjustment - there is no adjustment on the lens, you have to physically locate the projector to set the size of the image you want. not the end of the world but it can be a hassle if you have limited distance. keystone adjustment - at least in the close distances I tried, if the projector is tilted, you cannot really use the keystone to adjust squareness as it changes the focal distance and part of the image becomes out of focus. Overall, in this price range, you can't expect the features found in more expensive models. I accept its limitations and am happy with what it does. If you need a projector to throw a movie up for the kids, I don't think you can go wrong.

Better than a native 720p projector
12,000 lumens of brightness remains a lie for these affordable Chinese brand projectors when compared to main brands like Sony, JVS, and Epson, which are the top three brands in the projector market. It says it is 8,000 lumens on DBPOWER's website. Go look at dreamediaav.com and audioadvice.com for true spec sheets on these projectors. However, I picked this up anyways because of the reviews and it is actually a much better experience than my previous native 720p projector. If you don't have a basement or a closed room with no windows, I recommend waiting until after dark for a much better movie watching experience. Also, this projector does not have the ability to resize the screen. You will have to manually resize the screen by moving backwards if you want to get the bigger image based on throw distance. Right now, I got a 150 inch screen with at least a 14 feet throw distance.

Squealing sound when off…
This is my second projector. When it is off it makes a high pitched squealing sound that goes up and down in pitch. It has to do with the power cord. Google says it’s nothing to worry about, but it is annoying. The picture is nice. The settings are good. I like the timer to shut off. It also automatically shuts off after a period of inactivity. I mostly use it for my switch, but phone connectivity is not the best. It serves its purpose, but I would get a different model next time.

The DBPOWER 8000L projector is a great quality/performance mini projector for it's price. Like all projectors it's strongest in the darkest room possible but surprisingly the brightness is great when used in a room even with a small lamp on. Colour representation is good for the price point and only slightly blown out sometimes - but nothing too noticeable unless you've seen much more expensive projectors. The size and weight of this little thing is perfect and at 75W max it's using relatively low power (actually less than my Sony Bravia TV!) This works very well with Chromecast Google TV (which I pair to BOSE Soundlink II speaker rather than use projector speaker. Overall this is an incredible projector that punches well above it's weight and you can't go wrong for the price point on this product! Only things to note (and these are not major things for the price, just worthy to know): - The fan is noisier than my reference EPSON ($1995) but for the price it's to be expected - just worth noting if you want this in a bedroom (like I do) and don't want to increase the volume a bit to overcome the fan hum. - Optical keystone causes severe blur/aberration at all edges IF you need to utilise it to compensate for angling down/up you projector. Just get the projector more 'level' and avoid using keystone. - this mounts from a SINGLE centred screw hole, not 2-3 holes spaced out like bigger/traditional projectors, so you might need a more specific mount that accommodates for such a setup

Arrived much faster than expected, great brightness and quality for the price. Keystone correction blurs the edges a bit but minor gripe.
