The Brother Scan n Cut is one of the devices in my home that changed how I do crafts.I thought that it might just be a novelty, but I use it for a variety of purposes from crafts to prop making to cards to ... dozens and dozens of projects a week.Eventually the blades will dull. I tried to sharpen the older blades myself, but the machine is very finely calibrated, and the subtle difference in the size of the blade after sharpening led to some less accurate results.The answer is buy new blades.Given the amount of use that I got from the previous set of blades, this is a pennies on the dollar investment for a great tool.I love the Scan n Cut, and if you get full use of the Scan n Cut then you are going to need new blades.
