If you have a rectangular pool and are wondering what length to order to reach the farthest point of the pool and not have a bunch of extra hose to deal with or not enough, here you go. To determine how long of a hose you need, use the Pythagorean Theorem plus the depth. Take the length of your pool, square it, multiply it by the width of your pool squared. Then take the square root of that number. Then taken add the depth of the deep end. So my pool is 32’ long by 16’ wide. 32’^2*16’^2=1280. Square root of that is 35.8. The deepest part of my pool is 8’. So 35.8+8=43.8. So I got a 45 foot long hose. Works perfectly!

Using this for my sump pump. Needed something more durable than those $20 sump pump hose kits that last 2-3 days tops. I used a fernco 1-1/4 to connect the non-swivel end. The swivel end will leak. Far more durable and very flexible. I used to have a pool for years, years ago so I am familiar with these hoses. (Pic if of the swivel end, I eventually used the other end after I noticed it leaks) Would highly recommend for those looking for a solid sump pump hose that will last!

I've had many of these over the years, this one is pretty good. Eventually the sun and chlorine will rot them, it's just how things go. But the quality is there, and it should last a while. I expect maybe 5+ years, IDK. We'll see. Sometimes they fail at the spot where the white end is glued to the blue hose. Can't vouch for that, because it's obviously brand new and that takes a while.
