More than happy so far. Good charger, and if I'm honest, looking at the LCD display and comparing charging functions and profiles, is the same as the very highly rated Draper smart charger, albeit in a different plastic case.

I've had a few GooLoo products now and consider them to be of great quality. This charger is very well-built and super easy to use. For most people it will be a case of attaching the positive and negative cables, plugging it into the wall socket and walking away. It is that simple. If you have a different voltage battery or something other than lead acid, you may have to press the mode button a couple of times to get to the right setting. There isn't anything more to do than that. I left this on to charge a completely flat 12v calcium battery. After 5 hours when I came back to check on it, I found the battery was fully charged and the charger has switched to trickle charge mode. Next time I plan to check on it sooner to gauge just how fast it actually charged the battery. Another great product by GooLoo.

Chris reviewed that the charger was “fussy” and failed to charge sometimes. He’s absolutely right! Since buying this charger I have tried to charge what I thought were perfectly good batteries that were just a bit down. Two were sealed for life and one was AGM, all charged on the correct setting. Each time, after several hours of getting hot and pretending to charge them it simply displayed “bad” and the battery voltage had hardly risen. Assuming the charger found a problem and that the batteries were not accepting a charge I replaced them but now a trend is evident I think I disposed of 3 perfectly good batteries. It’s going in the bin.

Having had many battery charges over the last 40 years of building motorbikes. This has to be one if the best chargers I have had. Cheaper than many named brand intelligent chargers. With more functionality. It will charger from as low as 3.0v output from an old battery plus has the added feature of a 14v out put setting which is handy for using with a portable tyre pump. Admittedly unlike the 10a version it doesn't come with the sae to cigarette socket lead. But these are readily available. I have also used the charger to power up the electrics on a bike to check they work. I also used the 14v output for 15mins to bring an old battery up to 4v so the charger would then kick in. So I would recommend this to anyone looking for a all-round charger to look after your bike and car.

Contrary to what the product description lead me to believe, the unit I received mentions nothing about leaving the unit attached after charging for maintenance: in fact the manual says to remove the charger when battery is Full. No mention either of ‘de-sulfization’. It seems like a very basic charger with few functions, not a ‘smart charger’ that can restore batteries.

I rarely write reviews anymore. I felt obliged to do so in this case as this charger does ‘exactly what it says on the tin’. I had to set it up in the dark, but it was easy (and I don’t do ‘mechanical’), I charged a very flat battery overnight and the following morning my MX5 started first time. Very simple, very efficient and therefore very good value for money. An ex Excellent product.
