Heimia salicifolia (Sun Opener Sinicuichi) Hemia salicifolia is a flowering shrub that grows from Mexico to Argentina and is widely cultivated through its range. Hemia salicifolia has a Shamanic tradition dating to the Aztecs. The leaves were crushed mixed with water and allowed to ferment for a few days making a nice-tasting tea called Sinicuichi. The effect of the Sinicuichi tea was a euphoriant and a brightening/yellowing of vision hence the name "Sun Opener." Sinicuichi is also thought to give the ability to recall past events with great clarity.Note: We had a wholesale customer request an extremely large quantity of Sinicuichi 30x powder and enhanced leaf extracts. After 6 weeks of harvesting and manufacturing they decided they no longer wanted it (and had insisted on only paying on delivery). So we now have way too much of a product we don't even normally carry. As a result we are offering it below cost just to recoup some of our investment. We offer Sinicuichi foliage 10x Powdered Extract and 30x enhanced-leaf and powdered extract for sale.

It may be medicinal but its not enjoyable
I've tried smoking it and fermenting it 2 ways: 1)- making a tisane that I kept in the sun for 2 days, 2) soaking the dry mass in kombucha with extra sugar for 2 days. I used about 28g each time in a 1/2 gallon size wide mouth ball jar; and smoked about 3 bowls from an ad-hoc icewater bong made from a faucet aerator, 2 pvc pipes bored thru a mason jar lid and sealed with waterproof putty epoxy. Pretty ghetto but works well. After 12 bong hits, nothing really happened. I just felt like I had inhaled charcoal smoke--- no buzz. The next day though, I was sore all over my body to the extent that I could barely move. It was as if I had worked out for the first time in a season.I drank the tisane, and had the same reaction, although with some slight nausea from the bitterness. I felt maybe slightly euphoric. Very slighly. The next day, also very sore, this time it felt like I had been punched in my neck, or had whiplash. My scalene muscles were so sore it mimicked a sore throat. Finally I tried the kombucha. I felt slight euphoria again, nausea, and this time I felt so sore in the morning that I could barely make a fist-- my wrists were shot for 1/2 the day and I felt like an old man, stumbling around because my feet felt painful also.I believe sinicuichi is a good diagnostic herb--it lets you in on what's wrong with your body by making that part of your body shout at you in extreme pain. Another way to see it is that it electrifies your surface sensory nerves so that they are much more sensitive; leading to a wholly unpleasant and unyielding body awareness. It did not give me the dimming/yellowing of the vision or any auditory hallucinations. If anything it may have increased my visual acuity and made me more aware of reflections on things I would otherwise have ignored as being aware of these things serves no purpose but to distract you.I give this herb a 1 out of 10 for any recreational purposes; but it is yet unclear if it is medicinal beyond the diagnostic properties I mentioned. As a former user of medical marijuana I can say this is about 1/1000 of the power and intensity, if that. Then again, there's not much out there that's natural and has the good effects of marijuana that won't also kill you.
