Poppy in the Wild: A Lost Dog, Fifteen Hundred Acres of Wilderness, and the Dogged Determination That Brought Her Home

A Must Read for any and all dog lovers. Rescue is hard work but so worth it!
If you have never read a Teresa J. Rhyne book boy are you missing out. Not only is Poppy in the Wild a heartfelt adventure but it is amazingly educational. You feel like you are right there next to her searching with her and feeling all the emotions she is going through trying to get Poppy back safe and sound. This book is an eye opening account of the ups and downs of trying to find your lost fur baby .. so much can be learned by reading this book to help so many folks not make the common mistakes that we as owners or rescuers can make if we have the unfortunate situation of having a missing pet. Riveting, emotional, heartfelt, but most of all happy (in the end) I am not giving the ending away as Teresa ALWAYS makes sure the reader goes away with a smile on their face and in their heart. As one of her reviewers said "If I come back in another life, I want to return as one of Teresa Rhyne's beloved beagles" (Peter Zheutlin) and I have to agree with him. That would be heaven for sure.If you haven't read her other books The Dog Lived (and So Will I) and The Dogs Were Rescued (and So Was I) you need to! You will not want to put any of her books down until the last page is read.

A book worth reading
The author's bubbly humour makes the book a pleasant read. Also helpful tips on what never to do if you lose your dog. I found it a really good book and I would recommend it to a friend.

What an ordeal!
I must say I enjoyed the book although it could’ve been edited better. Too many mistakes to my liking.

Moving Story ~funny, suspenseful and very informative
Love the book and how Teresa portrayed the trying five days of Poppy's "adventure"! Even though I knew the outcome, I was scared for Poppy and the book tugged at my heart. I love Teresa's writing style ~sharing much about her self and her descriptive nature of all the crazy, wonderful, good-hearted and committed folks in dog rescue. I didn't anticipate learning so much about what to do if I never have an animal go missing ~the practical advice, resources and support gave me great confidence that should I ever BE in that awful situation, I'd be fully supported and the animal would make it home safely as well. I definitely recommend this book ~for laugher and for learning.

Teresa knocks it out of the park once again!!
I have read both of Teresa previous books. Poppy in the Wild did not disappoint! Truth be told, I would read any book involving Beagles! I live for Beagles, it's that simple. That's what hooked me initially on “The dog lived and so did I.” However, with that being said, Teresa's books are about life; what it throws at you, what it blesses you with, and how we get to share our lives with such wonderful beings, dogs! This book is an awesome resource for anyone who has the unfortunate experience of their dog running away. There is SO much great information between these pages! Things you should do to increase your chances of finding them, and things you should not do (these are very eye opening). Thank you Teresa for such a wonderful read!!
