First Time Buyer-Immediate Convert to this Amazing Coffee.
This is my first time trying Peruvian coffee. I use the "Fresh Roast" coffee roaster -- set it on high temp, high fan for 6.2 minutes-I think this may be considered just shy of full city...and the resulting coffee is simply amazing! I can't believe I am saying this, but I actually prefer this to Costa Rica Tarrazu. A complex flavor, very rich yet not heavy-I try to roast at the apex of unique flavor, just before it gets overpowered by roasting too dark. I also love African coffees -- this is significantly different -- has more chocolate characteristics vs. fruity. Other factors in buying this coffee: Shade grown (ecological focused), fair trade (people focused), all offered at a reasonable price.I highly, highly recommend giving this a try!

Last year this was their best coffee, not so good now
Last year this was the best coffee from their selection (I tried them all). My last order a week ago is not so great as the coffee roasts very unevenly and the taste is very different from what I have on my notes.

I got my coffee order and it was well worth the wait!!!!!!!
It took some time, but we got it right!!!!There was an issue in the beginning, but I spoke to the owner and she was absolutely wonderful. She took the issue to heart and handled the error quickly. I received what I was looking for; a great high quality product. I roasted the beans and the flavor was rich, deep and amazing. If you enjoy a bold flavorful cup of coffee with a hint of berry, try the Ethiopian Queen City Harrar. And, if you more inclined to an intoxicating appeal, then the Ethiopian blend is for you! I'll be back RhoadsRoast for more samples.

Great coffee, wish s&h was a bit more sensible..
Great coffee, wish shipping and handling cost was a bit more sensible - $50 lading cost for 3 lb is fairly expensive.

Grade 1, Double picked? No way.
The batch I received has a lot of color variations and degrees of smoothness. I picked them out into three groups so that I can taste if there are taste variations as well: First group has smooth skin and light green. Second group is much lighter in color almost like soy beans. The third group is brownish green with rough skins.I roasted them exactly the same way. The temperature was controlled between 390 and 405. A timer was used to ensure roasting time. Each batch was 80g. Then I brewed them exactly the same way too using Aeropress, with coffee and water ratio of 1:17.The taste was distinctly different. The first group (smooth green) tasted great as I would expect from Sumatra Mandheling. The third group (rough brownish green) tasted like crap. Not only it was bitter, it just tasted like low grade coffee. The second group (soy yellow) just didn't have a strong flavor.I don't mean to give you the impression that 2/3 of the beans were bad. But there was certainly a lot of inconsistency and should not be claimed as "premium" or "grade 1."

Great Coffee, one of my faves!
This is one of my favorite coffees. The flavor is very intense and typical of African high grown. It has good body as well. P3 or P4 on the Belmore is perfect. Cool after first crack is complete.
