This has been a game changer for us and I have ordered more!We are in a rented house so can't screw anything down and I am cautious of stick on child locks in case they remove paint or mark the doors.These are easy to install, no screws or sticking and easy to move to another door if you need to.This has stopped my toddler invading his teen brothers room and we are getting more for the bathrooms. They aren't discreet, but I don't think many safety locks are. We actually picked the ones with animals as our house is all about kids and family anyway, but they do have some plained ones which would probably blend in.Our toddler gave up pretty quickly after realising he can't open the doors now. Love them!

I live in a flat with my toddler and I needed a product that would stop her from being able to get through our main door to the stair case.This was very easy to set up, you just have to loop each end of the strap around your door handle and push the bolt through the hole on the other side of the strap, securing it with the provided nut. This secures it to the handle very tightly and prevents the door handle from being pulled down.To open the door you just need to release the catch and pull it up until the strap has enough slack for the handle to pull down, you just need to pull it to tighten back up again.I would say this probably wouldn't be as ideal for a door in regular use with people going in and out because if the strap is pulled down completely on one side, the person on the other side of the door will not have any strap there to release and wouldn't be able to get enough slack to release the door handle. (This would be easily avoided by pulling the strap tight again before closing the door. I always make sure my straps are level on both sides for this reason.)I would say this item is completely toddler proof because of the height of the catch. My daughter can reach the door handles around our home but is unable to pull this handle down at all.My only slight issue with this product is the colour but that was purely my own fault for going for the theme of my room rather than the colour of the door itself!

I bought this to stop my cats from hanging from the door handle and opening the kitchen door. It is basically a piece of tape that attaches to one side of the handle, goes over the top of the door and attaches to the other side of the handle. There is a sliding buckle that allows you to adjust the tension and balance it so that the door can be opened from both sides. It's ingenious and so simple, the cats can't escape now! The white colour was a poor choice because it quickly becomes grubby.

I bought these to cat proof my bedroom when my baby was born, and will use for him when he's old enough to try and open doors. They're great - simple to install and very easy to use. They can be fastened from either side of the door - but be warned that they can only be unfastened from the same side they were fastened on (my husband has accidently locked me in the bedroom a couple of times!).

Used to stop toddler escaping.Firstly, it wasn't long enough to reach bothdoor handles (I already knew this was going to be the case). Yes you can rectify this with string/elastic band etc but neither stop it from sliding out of position, so I didn't find it very effective.Overall it was useful, it served it's purpose, but not perfect for a standard UK door, and I spent a lot of time altering the position on the handle.

Love this product simple and easy to use. I don’t have to drill locks into my doors or change door handles to knobs now! Wish I had discovered these years ago! My cat can open doors and let himself into any room. Unfortunately my other cat has tendency to claw sofas chairs beds etc rather than her 7 ft cat tree 😩These have been a life saver. No matter how much my large heavy cat tried he can’t open the door. All I have to do is press the tiny lever on the string and push it up with one hand and it releases

I would have given this 4 stars (make it sub-£10 and it would be 5), had it been 3" longer. Once I modified it by simply adding an elastic band to one end to lengthen it, this simple device works brilliantly to stop my terrier-like toddler from accessing the kitchen. Easy to use one-handed and very much out of reach for even the most determined pre-schooler. Except for when they pull a chair over.... but then you've got bigger problems, so, good luck.
