I lost my software CD. Is there anywhere the software can be downloaded?

The USB serial adapter use the FTDI chip, you can download a driver from FTDI website (Steps: http://www.ftdichip.com>“Driver”>”VCP Drivers”> choosing a corresponding system driver on the opened page). Will this work with 4 wire RS485 connections?

So far I use it for two wire, but if I recall correctly, when I got my first one (I've done repeat purchases) I did test it with a four wire setup initially. I think the instructions did show the setup, but you'll have to check to be sure.

Will this work with valence lithium ion battereis?

I'm not clear what you are asking. This device is powered by the USB port on the computer that it is plugged into. No batteries required.
