Loud for a disc horn

These are a great replacement for single horns on a motorcycle. There are slightkly smaller than full size horns, so they are easier to fit in tight spots, & your get the high & low sounds, so they are louder than stock. They don't come with any wiring, so you will just have to make 2 small extension wires, for the second horn, if you are replacing a single horn. Well worth it.

I installed these on an Evo Sportster. I wanted horns that were small enough to "hide" but still be loud enough. These little horns do the job. I mounted them low and tucked in between the frame downtubes. There is a mounting tab on the frame there in front of the engine crankcase and I installed them back to back on a single 2" long, 5/16" diameter bolt. Easy install and they blend in well. They are small horns that are 67mm or almost 2.75" in diameter. Each of the horns is tuned to a different pitch. Together they produce a bright, loud "European" tone. The sound is a bit obnoxious, but it will get noticed. I measured current draw and was a little over 3 amps for both at 12 volts. This means there should be no problem connecting them to most existing horn circuits. (No extra relay is needed) They say "water spray proof" and do have drain slots to get rid of any water. Time will tell how they last, but for the price, it seems hard to go wrong with them.

I replaced the factory horn on my ninja 300. You need a double horn harness with a relay and fuse to handle the extra load without stressing the existing electrical. Hella loud! I'd say like my Camry now. However, some guidance on how to install, even if it's just general principles since every model is different, would be helpful.

I installed an aftermarket exhaust and when I was going down the road with my helmet on I could not hear the stock horn, I thought it had stopped working. When I got home I discovered the horn still worked, I just couldn't hear it. I installed this double horn set and let me tell you this set is loud, I pressed the horn button for a fraction of a second in the shed and it hurt my ears. I had to make a Y-harness but did not need to add a relay. There is no doubt people are going to hear me when I use my horn, I just don't think they will be looking for a dual purpose bike. I feel that this was money well spent.

One froze up. You have to tap it to make it work. Made sure of a good ground. Now I guess tear it open. Poor quality In my opinion. And why does this thing have a check mark under Durablity?

I have a vintage 1976 Honda 550 Four, a beautiful bike, perfect in every way except for the pitiful excuse for a horn. In all fairness, there weren’t as many alternatives back then and the cartoon Roadrunner “meep-meep“ was pretty standard for a stock horn. So I bought this Hella 2-horn set as a replacement, and Holy Moly, it literally hurt my ears! The dog was barking and my wife was shouting, and my ears were ringing after a quick toot. Only it’s not a toot, it’s a big loud 2-tone roar that should penetrate the cab of every car and truck within a block. I wired it with a relay, to assure full volume, and it was pretty easy to figure out. I’d recommend this blaster to anyone.

They are loud and work great on my 82 KZ1000.
