Can you vary the speed by the amount of pressure you put on the trigger?

Yes. It's a little difficult to do that until it's broken on some though. Brand new the trigger is a tad stiff so it only wants to go from 0 to 1000. Great little gun though.

does it have to be frequently oiled?

I oil it every day at the beginning of my shift... I put 2drops. I've dropped it quite a few times n no issues at all. Good lil impact N has some big ones

Does this come with an industrial plug?

It does not come with any air fittings, you have to buy them separately.

What size compressor is ideal to use with this just for minimal use?

Dewalt's website says 90psi @3.5cfm
