These work great but have some issues
I’ll admit that I’m a bit of a makeup brush snob, I have spent way to much money on makeup brushes over the years! But I am of the firm belief that a good makeup brush is key when applying makeup! I’ll also admit that I didn’t have very high hopes for this set by The Tool Lab. A lot of times brands like this have mediocre brushes and then price them higher than they should be priced. I was especially hesitant since nowhere on the webpage actually says what kinds of bristles these brushes have. Are they synthetic? Natural? Hybrid? Or something else entirely…But I’m actually surprised by how well these brushes perform. The bristles all have good densities and firmness for what they are used for. For instance the 219 small precision smudge brush has enough firmness to be able to smudge, while being small enough to get into small areas like the inner corner and bottom lash line. And the 212 blending eyeshadow large is fluffy but still still has some structure and shape to it so that you can really blend out your looks. That being said, the overall look and feel of these brushes don’t feel to be the quality that the price point suggests. These brushes are very light weight and have a very distinct and strong glue smell to them. Couple that with the lack of materials used list and I can only give these 3 stars. I think the overall quality and functionality is close to the Real Techniques brand. There not the best quality, but they perform beautifully. The problem with these is that there priced more like a mid-high range quality brand, but the quality and feel suggests more of a low-mid quality brand.

Good Brush Toolbox
I've been watching videos lately about how o apply eye makeup. It's truly become an art,,,,an art which requires several brushes as well. What I've realized is that you need good blending brushes as well as traditional applicators. There's definitely one good blender in here although it might not be quite as large as one would want. This is a great pack though and when I go to do my eyes, I pull these out. They are quite pricey and that's the only real glaring negative, but you do get several detail brushes that can help you get those artistic video eyes. Recommended if you don't mind the cost.

Great starter set of eye makeup brushes
This brush set from Korean beauty brand The Tool Lab is a great addition to your kit, whether you're a beginner or an experienced makeup artist. Most of the brushes I have are from American drugstore brands, but I have a few nicer brushes from high end brands like MAC and I think these are close to the same quality. They seem very well made, and the bristles hold a precise shape and do not shed. This set contains 5 brushes: The 215 is a medium sized concealer brush with soft, densely packed synthetic PBT bristles. It has a flat shape with a rounded profile and allows for precise application of concealer to clean up eyeliner or eyeshadow. The 212 is a large eyeshadow blending brush with natural wool bristles. It has a slightly flattened but fluffy shape and is perfect for blending out eyeshadow for a soft look. The 203 "point eyeshadow" brush has smaller, shorter and more compact natural wool bristles, and is perfect for precise application of eyeshadow for the crease. It holds pigment well and is great for building up color. The 225 "small crease" brush is a small and precise round brush perfect for blending or softening eyeliner, and is made with natural weasel hair bristles. The 219 "small precision smudge" is the smallest brush in the set, and is made with synthetic PBT bristles. It is almost like a miniature version of the large concealer brush and is perfect for precise applications of pigment such as sharp eyeliner. The variety in this kit allows anyone to create a variety of different makeup looks without needing any other brushes. Each brush comes in its own clear protective sleeve to help keep the bristles clean and in good shape, and the kit also comes with a stylish clear envelope case to keep all the brushes together. The whole kit is just 6" long and very light and portable, great for traveling light. The only other item I would recommend buying to complement this set is a brush cleanser suitable for natural hair bristles, since this set contains a mix of natural and synthetic brushes.
