Where was the story?
I have never rated anything so low before and hate to do it knowing the hours of work that goes into a book. But right from the very start when she says "Lake Ullswater" instead of just "Ullswater" I knew it was sloppy. The female character buys a handbag near the end of the book having "not bought anything made of leather yet". However, the author forgot she had the character buy a leather handbag chapters earlier. It was a long boring trawl with the outcome obvious from the start. Cardboard characters, no real story. And where was the heat, the vibrance, the feel of Italy? It could have been a wet day in Blackpool for all we knew of the description. It was just a book written by tickboxes with no feel for the characters, countries or culture.

Put downable not funny not set in Italy
Did not like this book at all. I bought it specifically as I love reading books with Italy featured in them. I was 50% through the book before she goes to Italy and then it all goes wrong. I can only assume the writer has never been to Como or researched it. Her descriptions and geography were wrong which really annoyed me. Main character was barely in Italy before boarding a plane and heading back to lake district. There was a lot of un needed conversations with side characters that didn't add anything to the story, characters that didn't add to the story, a dead husband who featured too much but only to really mention the fact he'd died. I'm 85% through the book and just don't have the heart to finish it. I've never done this with a book before, some books I enjoy more than others but never disliked a book enough to leave a bad review.

Another fab book
Another fantastic book by Sue Moorcroft. I'm smiling from ear to ear and although I wanted to get to the end to find out what happened-i didnt want the story to finish. I loved all the characters and am glad they all got a happy ending. The amount of love in this book made my heart smile 😃

Enjoyable story
I enjoyed this book as the story and characters were really good. I had expected the majority of the book to be set in Italy, but a lot of it centered around Ginas home village in the Lake District. I have to say the parts that were set in Lake Comp makes it sound amazing and I now hope to visit there myself one day

Where was Italy?
I got 15% through and gave up! It was set in the English Lake District and the Lead character went on and on and ON about her dead husband, Adam . A bit sad but as his character was drawn so sparingly, I felt no empathy. So it just got boring. In fact - No sign of Italy. No Romance. No Comedy. I think I was sent the wrong book.

An armchair holiday!
Enjoyed this outing to the Lake District, with descriptive language taking me back to family holidays, and then, off to Lake Como, where once again, the descriptive language had me back in Italy. The characters came alive as the story progressed, with some sadness, some smiles, and all the emotions in between. A very pleasant read.
