It is expensive up front, but I really do like this multifunction machine
I have a Canon color laser printer that works very well that was about half the price of this Maxify GX-7020 upfront, but laser printer's replacement cartridges are VERY expensive! The replacement ink for the GX-7020 seem much more reasonable to me. I have the GX-7020 connected wirelessly to my iMac, and I did not have any issues doing that (also, to my iPhone and iPad). I did have an issue with the iMac finding the scanner but an internet search found that I needed to allow the scanner utility to be allowed by the iMac's firewall. Once I did that, it worked fine.Scanning and printing have been without any issues. I like that the GX-7020 has both duplex printing AND duplex scanning. While searching other internet reviews of this MF, I saw one reviewer suggested printing a test page everyday to keep the print head from getting clogged by dried ink due to low usage. I've been doing that so far and every day the test page, which I download from another internet search, prints flawlessly. My fingers are crossed that I'll be able to use this MF machine for awhile and that the consumables will stay reasonably priced.

Unreliable failure
I'm a savvy user of tech. I have owned and built PC's, and run a variety of Macs in my household. I'm no stranger to networking and troubleshooting. This printer seemed excellent for about 6-9 months. Then it began to have printing and alignment issues, which over time became more prevalent. 18 months after purchase, the printer became a nightmare to use. Most print jobs fail due to jamming. Ink leaked somehow and is impossible to clean fully. No amount of auto-maintenance seems to help.If the printer were reliable, I'd rate it 4.5 stars due to nice color quality and the theoretical economic advantage of ink tanks. But this heap of fragile plastic revealed its true nature over time.

Tank ink makes this a far cheaper printer operationally than HP's ink cartridge printers
We've only had the Canon GX7020 a few weeks, but it's a very impressive printer. Print quality is excellent, and we love the two front paper trays. We keep scarp paper that's already printed on one side in Cassette 1, and new paper in Cassette 2. No more do we have to insert scrap paper (of which we have thousands of sheets) when we want to print inconsequential items like shopping lists. We expect the savings in ink to pay for the printer pretty rapidly. One tank refill costs about the same as one ink cartridge, but holds probably 20 times as much ink! (strictly a guess from looking at the cartridge and the tank filler container). Also, filling one of the ink tanks (there are 4) is just as easy and clean as inserting an ink cartridge--it's impossible to get ink on your fingers since ink doesn't flow until the refill container is fully inserted into the tank nozzle that then releases the ink. When removing the empty ink refill container, there are no drips, as the opening is re-sealed upon removal--cleverly designed! And it has an economy printing mode equivalent to HP's draft mode that was important to me before purchasing the printer. But, I could only find that information in the manual that I downloaded before ordering the printer.

So long ridiculously high price cartridges
Received in excellent shape. My old Canon finally junked after about 7 years ... was a really good printer. I hated replacing expensive, even third party, cartridges. This unit, however, although initially high in price, prints very well and I dont have to worry about cartridges. If I get the same 7 years out of it, I will be very happy. The only grip I have is, you have to choose either wifi or ethernet to print. I want both ... oh well. Happy with the unit.Update: bought in Jan at about $750, and now over $1,000 USD. I wouldnt buy it at that price today. Maybe there will be a Black Friday change? Anyway, the unit is working GREAT! We couldnt be happier we bought it. Have had to add only Black ink and we print allot of docs. I continue to recommend this unit, but not at this current price.

Great machine!! Save a ton of money on ink and the tanks of ink last incredibly long.
Great machine!! Do not operate the machine on quiet mode because it will work slowly. Once its off quiet mode it works like a charm. Save a ton of money on ink and the tanks of ink last incredibly long.

Probably cost me 50 dollars a print
doing the math on how many prints I got out of this vs the cost it must be like $50 a print. Why? Because the ink is not flowing through the tubes! Do yourself a favor and skip on this printer. I don't print every day, but I didn't expect this thing to just clog up on me when I didn't print anything for a couple of months. Just a big waste of money. Not the first time canon doesn't fail to disappoint

Positive initial reaction but then they dropped the price by 17% shortly after I bought it.
This printer was a breeze to setup and configure. Since I also have a wired LAN I didn't bother with WIFI. I can still print from my phone using the Canon Print app and I just saw WIFI as no benefit to me. I print photos both from my computer and from my phone to glossy photo paper and I am thrilled with the quality. Color is true and there are no tell tale fine lines running through the images like my previous printer had. One thing I did do was that I shut off the automatic shut down feature. I didn't like waiting for the printer to come back on if it passed its previous 4 hour shutoff time limit. Now I simply turn it off at night and on again in the morning. It may not be an ideal office printer if you print tons of 8 1/2 x 14 prints since the cassettes are both 8 1/2 x 11 only and the rear tray only holds a 100 sheets. This was not an issue for me because I preferred the compact size over having larger cassettes. I read a few reviews with negative comments about the touch screen but those people probably are the same ones who have trouble with touch screens on phones? I found it to be very responsive and accurate and for me anyway is one thing that justifies the higher price tag. That and single pass scanning, love it!UPDATE: I felt that I had to drop my rating to 3 stars. Shortly after I bought it the price dropped around $150 and now I just feel ripped off. My return window is not even close to expiring and I feel that I should just return it.
