Overall, they are fine and look nice. The color comes out in direct sunlight and depends on the color of the post top it’s installed to. They’re effectively somewhere between royal blue and cobalt. The glass is likely not to show typical discoloration or fading, but only time will tell. In direct sunlight they're deep blue.The attached pictures show the actual color while the listing clearly seems to use a digitally altered picture to "simulate" the blue (most likely from the picture of the green cap). Anyway, the blue of the actual cap is a whole lot more attractive than the listing suggests.Installation instructions were not included but online description insisted on using silicone glue to attach the caps after finishing the post and the wood of the cap first and that both inside and outside of the cap wood parts are supposed to be finished to prevent cracking.Since the glass is translucent, it does make a difference what the top of the post looks like. I added a picture with a piece of aluminum flashing placed on top of the post as a sort of mirror. it does indeed give the center portion a jewel-like appearance. If that's not what you prefer, then a darker finish will make the cap look more homogeneous.(Either way, some finishing may be preferred as the light may be dimmer but still reaches the wood. Since rain is kept out, that should be not a problem but if you want to be sure and better control the looks it's better to give the post end a finish. You could even install a light, but frankly, there are already so many solar caps out there.)I got concerned reading the reports about damage in shipping due to poor packaging, and nothing changed. However, none damaged in my batch. Most interesting was that each was packaged differently ranging from bubble wrap to no packaging at all.

These are well made and uniquely beautiful. I would have given 5 stars except they were packed poorly. 2 of the glass sections had chips off the corners (I found the glass in the packaging, so it must have happened in shipping), and 1 of the cedar trim pieces came cracked (I glued and clamped it). There was no point in sending it back as this will be a recurring problem until the manufacturer resolves the packing issue. They came packed in one sheet of paper each - this doesn't cut it - they need to be wrapped in bubblewrap or foam sheets and shipped in a bigger box for more protection. This is not the fault of Amazon, but of Woodway, and now that they've raised their price, they need to resolve this issue.

these are nice, but some modification to the caps is required to get them to sit straight. the cedar base matched my new deck perfectly and the green glass top fit well with the plants. the only issue is trying to cut out the glue globs and imperfections in the corners to get them to sit on the post properly.

Let me just say I love love love these post caps and have gotten multiple comments on them. They appear to be packaged well, but that didn't stop 4 of them from being chipped when I opened the box. I'm pretty lazy and just decided to use them instead of complaining and returning. I made sure all the chipped ones were in the back yard and not the front.

These were beautiful and much more dramatic looking than simple post caps, but each of three packages arrived with some damaged post caps. It makes me think that even if they arrived in perfect condition, they won't remain that way if something hits them (we have a large walnut tree, so it would definitely be a possibility.) Amazon was great about returning free of charge and also sent replacements, but I decided to go with solid cedar post caps instead, which were great.

I returned this product because of chips in the glass most likely caused during shipping. When I received the replacement box, the product was in worse condition, with one of the post caps broken in several places. The shipping of these glass posts leaves a lot to be desired in keeping the product free of damage. After the second batch, I gave up trying to get a perfect set. If you want perfection, I would not order this product.

The glass is nice, but after a few years, the wood part separates and falls down the post.I tried gluing with epoxy, but it is hard to get a good connection between the glass and the wood.

It is very pretty and I am hoping it will withstand our weather here in Northern California. No one around our area has anything like it and we get good comments on it from our neighbors.
