Perfect jar for brewing kombucha. The added cloth & rubber band was a nice bonus too. If your kitchen is prone to fruit flies or bugs, I recommend adding a paper towel or another cloth on top of it since the weaving is a bit thin and a tiny fly might indeed squish through it. Not a deal breaker for me, everything arrived in great condition so 5 stars from me.

Glass jar seems sturdy. The cloth covers the top very well help the fermentation process. Like it.

This a a great Kombucha Jar! Nothing negative to report. Came packaged well with Amazon and the cheesecloth that came with the jar is nice and doesn't drop any loose threads or lint ( in which another jar I purchased the cheesecloth was not good for brewing Kombucha as it dropped small pieces of lint ). I have a perfect set up now with two rotating jars for home brewing my yummy tea. For a third jar though ( for the scoby hotel) I did use a giant pickle jar that I bought at a big box store. Only paid $5 for the 1 gallon jar WITH pickles so just something to think about for home brewing and adding additional jars :)

We use this for kombucha, and it works great. It's nice that it comes with a cloth cover with rubber band. It also comes with a screw-on plastic lid, but as we always have kombucha brewing, we'll never use the lid.This product does seem quite a bit over-priced for what it is--a glass jar, but it's the best deal I've found.

Seems easy to use and purposeful.

I've got two of these now. good quality and an affordable option for home brewing. I've used mine for everything from sour dough starter to ginger bugs. the opening is more than large enough to fit even the largest hands inside for cleaning. i've found that the shape of these is better suited for my needs that say the Kerr one gallon jars, they are much more affordable also.

I received my 1 gallon jars a couple days ago well packaged and delivered on time. Just started my first Kombucha batch yesterday and these jars are exactly what I was looking for. The cloth and rubberband included fit securely and easily on top. Others have mentioned the glass being thin but in my opinion it is perfect and would not want it thicker due to the added weight. I did pay full price for my jars and would give my recommendation to anyone for Kombucha making. I included a photo and as you can see my Scoby that I got from my brother sank. Hopefully it rises in a couple more days.
