Works well to keep slugs off potted plants!
Over the summer the slugs slither/glide (what is their movement verb called??) up the sides of my potted plants and then munch away, killing them slowly. I am a nature lover and didn't want to harm the slugs...they're just trying to live too...so I was comfortable with slug killing chemicals. Plus I have other animals and toddlers and didn't want anything harmful to be anywhere near them.I read that copper causes the slugs and snails to feel an uncomfortable electric shock-like sensation when the mucus in their slim comes in contact with copper. I bought this to tape around the tops and bottoms of my potted plants' pots, but didn't think it would work.IT DID!They completely stopped climbing the sides of the pots, and several of my plants I thought were goners actually came back and finished the summer season! I will definitely be doing this every year.Be careful applying the tape. The edges are EXTREMELY sharp and I gave myself a few really nasty metal paper cuts.

Overall thickness is .003" not 5Mil(.005")
When measuring the copper with adhesive on it, with calibrated micrometers, its just a little over .003" 3.15Mil is a little over .003" (3 thousandths of an inch), overall thickness states 5Mil (.005"), its not. Its not as thick as 3M copper foil tape (which we use for welding gas backing) but for the price you CANNOT go wrong. 3M is like 20x more expensive

Tested fine
Correcting my rating from 3 stars to 5.Below is previous review. I realized I made an error in my calculations. I retested using an improved method and different lengths and found a resistance of 7.7ohm/1,000ft, which is close to expected given shape.==original=====I figured this 1" wide tape, with thickness of 3.15mil, should have a copper cross section equivalent to 14g wire. However, I ran 5amp through a 3 ft section of tape and then measured the voltage drop, and got an effective resistance value of 60ohm/1,000ft, which is much much higher than the expected spec of 2.5ohm per 1,000ft for copper wire. I repeated the measurement at several different currents and got consistent results. I suspect the advertised 3.15mil specification includes the thickness of the adhesive.

Quality
The copper foil is good and it has great conductivity, it's very useful if you need it for electronic purposes.

Aw ye, no snails!
I lined the legs of my raised garden with this tape and snails/slugs no longer will climb up to my veggies.

The copper is only ~0.05mm thick not 0.09mm as shown in the picture.
