Performance and Power in a Slim Package
This Acer Aspire model exceeded my expectations for a slim laptop. The quality feels premium, and the slim design and 15.6-inch screen make it look great. Ease of set up was quick, and Windows 11 Pro was running smoothly in no time. The boot time is incredibly fast thanks to the 256GB NVMe SSD. The AMD Ryzen 3 7330U delivers excellent performance for multitasking and running multiple applications simultaneously. The laptop is also surprisingly lightweight given the large screen size. The sound quality is clear and loud enough for media consumption. This is a powerful, high-functioning machine that offers significant speed.

Quality exceeds price
I couldn’t be more impressed. From the moment I placed my order, everything ran like clockwork. The price was surprisingly affordable—no hidden fees or inflated costs, just honest value for money. That alone made it stand out in a crowded market. But what really sealed the deal was the quality. Whether it was the product itself or the service behind it, everything felt thoughtfully crafted and built to last. You can tell they don’t cut corners. Speed was another huge plus. I barely had time to check my inbox before the confirmation and delivery updates rolled in. It arrived faster than expected, which is rare these days—and incredibly appreciated. Most importantly, it’s reliable. No glitches, no delays, no excuses. Just consistent performance and dependable service every time. That kind of trustworthiness is hard to come by, and it’s why I’ll definitely be coming back. Highly recommended for anyone who values quality, speed, and peace of mind.

Great machine at a great price.
Very nice machine and an exceptional low price. Enjoying the 15.6" screen and programs run quite fast. The only negative is the huge touchpad. It is very sensitive, I am constantly inadvertently opening windows and closing them. Bit of a bother. Overall, great value for the money. It has replaced my previous Acer, 14 years old, and never had a problem.

Great budget, user friendly, work, school laptop
I ordered this laptop based on multiple tech reviews and articles on the best budget user friendly home and school laptops. So I took a chance and bought mine from Amazon. I was able to purchase it for under $400. It's a great computer so far. The only thing I can not yet figure out is that even though it's my understanding that this one that I purchased is supposed to have a keyboard backlight, I can't figure out how to turn it on. It's quite frustrating. I've done many searches about it. I gave up and bought a keyboard light that plugs into the side of my laptop on Amazon. I hope I will one day figure out how to turn the laptop backlight on though. Ugh. Otherwise, I think it is a great buy. I really like that it has a camera shutter switch to close the lense. It feels safer and more private when not using the camera for video calls. I bought the Acer Aspire 3 (without touchscreen). I would recommend this laptop. My 19 year old thinks I chose well. Lol! So I guess that might be more convincing than an older lady like me! 😉

Best Bang for the Buck
I don't write many reviews, but after looking for an inexpensive laptop and going through some trials and tribulations, Acer came through with this model, especially at this price. These notes are geared towards comparing this against other laptops in a similar price range. - Windows does not generally run well on 8GB of RAM, 16GB is the min, and this comes with that, AND is EXPANDABLE. Many other models in this price range come with soldered ram and can't be upgraded. In short, don't buy a windows laptop with less than 16GB of RAM, if possible - Comes with Windows PRO! Maybe not a big deal for most, when you want a windows feature and then learn that you have Home version and or the "S", this is huge. Windows "S" is not great, although it can often be disabled. - 15.6 IPS 1080 screen. Again and area that many other latptops 'skimp' on and IMHO, unless you are plugging into a monitor for most of the time, which I am not, the screen is critical and having a good one is imperative to a happy user - Ryzen 3 7730U cpu is perfect blend of performance, price, power consumption. Many others come with these weak intel processors, where there's so many models #s, its difficult to understand what you are getting and most are way under-powered to do anything other than document editing. The Ryzen performs and with the Intel graphics, you'll be able to run a good number of games at proper resolution and refresh rates. - I haven't tested the battery life - but this is often so subjective to what is running, and my use is to have it plugged in most of the time. - Last but not least, it doesn't seem to come with a ton of bloatware. It doesn't come with a mouse, but I feel like the ones that do include a mouse, the mouse is bad and you probably have a better one laying around anyway. In short, if you are looking for a laptop that can actually run Windows AND actual fun programs (which is what you buy it for), I don't think you can do much if any better than this laptop at this time in 2025.

Purchased June 2021 - it DIED after FOUR months & they want ME to pay repair shipping cost!
I have been an Acer customer for about 10 years and never had an issue...until now. My daughter needed a new laptop before her Senior year, so I had no hesitation replacing her HP laptop with a new Acer Aspire 5 A515-46-R14K 15.6" laptop from Amazon. She set it up but did not begin using it until school started August 2021. It has had very light usage; she's not a gamer and only uses it for school assignments and projects. Needless to say I was shocked and extremely disappointed it died on her on November 14, 2021. The screen is completely blank, but the keyboard is backlit and the fan is running so loud it sounds like it's going to take off an fly across the room, so I know it is getting power. I contacted technical support through Amazon, and they transferred me to Acer. The Acer technician had me hold the reset button on the bottom of the laptop for 30 seconds and power it back on...NOTHING except the same black screen, backlit keyboard, loud fan, and nothing else. Considering we've had it less than 6 months, I thought surely they would send a replacement. NOPE...I was given a support ticket number, an email with instructions for how to send it in for repair, and to add insult to injury, I have to pay the shipping costs! When I asked what happens if they are unable to repair it, the technician could not answer my questions. I asked if they would provide a replacement if they are unable to repair it. Still no answer. This laptop is barely over 4 months old, is clearly under warranty, and it is completely useless. Acer should back their products and send a replacement without hesitation instead of us having to mail it off for repair and requiring us pay the shipping cost. (I'm financially able to afford the shipping cost, it's the principle of having to do it that ticks me off because I feel like I'm being punished for their defective product.) It is rare I have the need to post a negative review on Amazon, but this is ridiculous.

Everything I need and more
My Gateway laptop has been getting slower and slooowwwwer for a while to the point where it took me (no exaggeration) 15 minutes to boot...and it was getting glitchy besides. I've had Acers before and they've been good machines so I thought I'd give this one a shot. I'm not in the least disappointed. The pros: +The backlit keyboard. I absolutely love it. Yes, the backlighting goes off after a few seconds of non use - but any key will immediately turn it back on. So I just press the Shift key and the backlighting returns. A really neat feature on such an inexpensive computer. +The matte finish screen. I remember when I was searching for my last laptop that I had a terribly hard time finding a matte (non-glare) screen. It seemed that at that time for some inexplicable reason every manufacturer out there had gone to a glossy screen which, to me, creates thoroughly unacceptable reflections. The Gateway I wound up with was one of the very few on the market with a matte screen. So glad this one has it as well. +Flexibility. Apparently it is quite easy to upgrade both the memory and the hard drive. For my uses I don't think I'll need to do either one - but it's nice to know I can if I want to. I've been using a 1TB external drive as my primary storage for some time now, so I just plugged it in and kept on chugging. +Speed. I know I was transitioning from a computer that had become outrageously slow, but I was not prepared for boot times under ten seconds - wow! It's about time that these things finally are operating at speeds they should have been all along. And everything is much faster. It is a true pleasure. +Design. Sleek, clean, not all gimmicked up. And although I read a review or two that said the fan was noisy I think those reviewers got a clunker because mine is super quiet - you can barely hear the fan at all. Certainly not anywhere near as noisy as my previous laptop. The cons: - I do wish it had a DVD drive built in. I know it would have made it thicker, but I hate that I won't be able to access some of my antique stuff until I add one. Oh, well. And that's it for the cons. I find this to be an outstanding computer for the price and would highly recommend it to anyone who doesn't need eyeball-searing speed and massive memory capacities necessary for some genres. For me, I'm certain it's going to be my workhorse for some time to come.
