It looked/worked as described. Makes it a lot easier to deal with string when flying a kite than if you were using the simple string holding plastic handle that usually comes with a kite. Letting out line, and especially taking in line when you're bringing the kite back down, is much easier with a reel. And you don't have to handle the string directly so no "rope burn" abrasions from winding the kite string back up. Less time spent dealing with the string, more time flying the kite.

It is nice hard plastic, but am returning it because seems hard to use even though I have not flown a kite with it yet. The winder handle is hard for me to flip out and these are both quite small even for my hand. Husband could not hold them properly at all. Might be OK for small children. Does not have a safety button to lock or release. That is probably my biggest concern for my grandchildren. Price was nice, but I will need to pay more, I think.

Bought the product, went to beach, put kite in the air, beautiful kite day , not to windy, had kite in the air , started bringing it back in, handle broke, hurt fingers and line burns on my arm trying to stop reel. No luck! Lost kite and all the line. Will not recommend this item, and I will not use the other ones I have,
