I recently replaced my Airstream’s WFCO Unit 9855-AD with a RecPro converter due to the WFCO’s inability to properly charge my lithium batteries. The RecPro has been a fantastic upgrade. Its default setting is for lead-acid or AGM batteries, but adjusting the potentiometer to 14.6V for my lithium setup was straightforward. The unit is impressively quiet, a huge improvement over the WFCO’s fan noise. It’s reliable, efficient, and charges my batteries perfectly. Great value for the price—highly recommend, no regrets!

Replaced it to put LiFePo batteries in our class C RV. Easy install. Just had to bend the back tabs up to get it to fit. Works great.

Synopsis: I cannot recommend this converter/charger. It failed on it's first real test. That's the gist of it, for details read on. I bought this converter for our egg camper (small minimalistic fiberglass camper). It's a 13-foot Burro that's a complete resto-mod. I've replaced all the lighting with LED, we run the fridge on propane or 120v, and the only other things that run on 12v are the propane heater (exhaust blower) and the Maxx-Air roof vent, that we only use while cooking. We have one deep cell 12v marine battery for these sparse 12v accessories. I bought this converter/charger in August of last year, and only used the camper for one overnight get away (I was restoring and modding the camper all summer). This spring (April) we took the camper on our first road trip (10 states, 3,000 miles). The first few days went well, then we started to have issues with the lighting unless we were plugged into 120v. We took the camper to an autoparts store to have the battery tested. They put it on a load tester and determined the battery was only putting out 4.5v and likely had a few bad cells. A new battery and we were on our way. Everything went great that night, then the next day the battery went dead again (I had errantly set the fridge to 12v). The second night with the new battery nothing charged, even while plugged into 120v all night. BTW the TV, that runs on 120v, worked fine. In the morning I put my multi-tester on the charger and found it was supplying 4.5v... The culprit. Bought a new converter/charger at a local RV shop and after two and a half hours of charge time we were golden again. Out the $120 for this failed charger as it was well beyond the return date, and probably out another $120 for a battery that would have been fine with a dependable converter/charger.

I had installed 200 amps of lithium batteries and needed to upgrade the rv battery charger. I drained the batteries down to 65 percent based on a victron shunt. Turning on shore power the charger started putting out 32 amps. If the batteries had a lower charge I believe more amps would have been produced as needed. In about three hours the amp charge slowed to only a few and then the light turned green with the voltage at about 14.3. The fan ran and was very quiet. So far for a very reasonable price this charger works. The 4 star rating is because with the current it can deliver, better screws attaching the wiring would be a good improvement.

I used this charger to charger 2 x 100ah lithium batteries I just installed in a camper. Be forewarned, if the batteries get drained, this charger will output over 30amps at 14.3vDC to bring them back. I ended up upgrading the camper wiring and installing a 60amp trip/breaker instead of the original 40amp pop/breaker since it kept tripping. Breakers work off of heat, and the wiring was getting too hot and causing the breaker to trip. But back to the charger, no issues whatsoever. Works great, although I had to modify the space where the old charger was located so this one would fit. Side note. When setting the dial to charge lithium batteries, it outputs that voltage all the time. Even after the batteries are fully charged, it still outputs the same voltage of 14.6vDC which some lithium batteries may not like over time. So far, the camper electronics and lithium batteries I'm using seem fine at 14.6vDC, only time will tell. I'm using LiTime 100ah batteries.

Works well on my LiFePo4 battery bank in my RV. I replaced an old school converter that was baking my old lead acid batteries at the same time I replaced the batteries with LiFePo4 ones. I have 1200 Ah of battery and this one keeps up just fine. When I'm "driveway boondocking", I can just plug this into an extension cord on the garage, and it keeps up with the battery drain no problem. I also have a couple solar panels, and this charger works well with the solar controller; they don't fight each other or anything. I'm happy with my purchase.

Not what I expected. This charger is cheaply made and failed after only 6 months. I tried to return the item and was past of by a person from Recpro. The company that sells this item. Do not waste your money on this product. Completely disappointed.

Works great on my rv, if I would buy again I would get the 55amp, but the 45amp Works fine for me 2 batteries 100amph

Has worked very well. No issues. I had tried a few others and they would always fluctuate the power. This one is steady and reliable.

This converter did not work for me. The terminal lugs on the unit are not big enough for the wire needed to halde this much current. The unti would run for a few minutes and then trip my dedicated circuit meaning drawing more than 1800 watts from the wall. The other issue I had with this unit was that the unit didnt output even close to the advertised current. I had it connected to wire big enough 1/0, and even then with batteries starting at 30%, never output more than 70-80% of it's rated capacity. Unit is around 74-79% efficient whoch kinda sucks. I would expect closer to 90-95% for a unit like this.

I haven’t had a chance to install it yet but it came on time, and was exactly what the product described to be. It’s a good quality and well made
