What are the Decibel (db) levels for the alarm sound Hi and Low setting?

High on my DB meter C Weighted for human hearing is 84.8 Low is Around 65db ... on high I can hear it while in the next room so I would say it should be heard by most. The low I never found use for.

If you switch modes to count up instead of down, the next time you go to use it will it reset or stay in count up mode?

Dear Customer, It will stay in count up mode. However, it is easy to switch modes. If it stay in count up mode, using "RESET" bustton to clean the mode, press "1H/5M/1M/1S" buttons for count down time setting, press "ST/SP" to start. If you stay in count down mode, using "RESET" to clean the mode, press "ST/SP" to start count up. Hope this answer helps.

No.....display is always lit whether in clock or timer mode.

Does the clock only work with their batteries? I try my own batteries. The batteries are new, but don’t work with the clock

Assuming your batteries are installed correctly, my experience with this timer is that they seem to have a mind of their own. Bought 2, one was dead out of the box. I don't use the clock function on the other because it tends to get stuck. Sorry.
