Fan of philosophy
I am a fan of these books. I like a lot of the essays and how they show the influence of both popular culture, as well as the many philosophical studies that can be seen in it. You learn to think about certain things, in a different way.

Very insightful
Some of the essays are a little lengthy for my taste but this is still a very good book. Gives some very insightful thoughts on the beautiful game.

Title says it all
beautiful and informing. Not only for the game of soccer(football) but also for how to integrate philosophical thinking to the sport as well. Very enjoyable.

Fairly Average
Fairly average book. This book is a collection of articles on the philosophy of soccer from around the World.Ted Richards is the editor of this book. There are many authors in this book who hold barely any credibility which therefore makes it hard to respect. This book is worth the read if you enjoy the many different theories of soccer.

Recommended for only the deep soccer fan
Interesting read. Interesting takes on the topic of soccer. The references are for those who know and follow the sport regularly. Passive spectators of the sport may follow along; but certainly not appreciate the deeper meanings or associations. Nonentheless, even a die hard soccer fan may get tired of the some topic be spun again and again and again. By the end, I started skimming the text. Not fair to those authors slotted later in the book, although that caveat of having so many essays on the same small scope. Was wavering between a 3 star and a 4 star rating.
