Q: does the adhesive ruin the furniture? I'd like to know that I could remove the pads from my antique dresser should I desire to do so.

Adhesive “ruins” furniture in that it can be very difficult to fully remove. If you plan to remove these or another adhesive product from your furniture in the future, you can make the removal process easier by using a scraper and a “goo gone” or “krud kutter”-type product. You might have to use a bit of sandpaper if you do not wish to use an adhesive remover like the above-mentioned products.

Q: Do these stay in place or slide off? I have used others that slowly slide off leaving a sticky residue on the floor.

They will slide off and leave a sticky residue on the floor. This happened to me a few months into using them. They have caused such an issue in my house. This is my first negative review of any product.

Q: Are these non-staining?

If you mean will they stain the surface you're protecting, we've had these on for a while on hardwood and tile with no staining.

Q: Do these contain any latex?

I don't think so. The pads are felt. The backing is some sort of adhesive.
