Just as good as the name brand sonic clickers
These work great with my 3 small yappy dogs, but not at all on the 2 large neighbor dogs! These will not stop an attacking dog as shown in some dog repeller training aids ads. I have found they work best as a training & reminder tool. I use them when my dogs first go outside & start their barking, it shuts them right up! In the house when one starts to bark, one click & he stops. Any time we are out & they run loose at the park, & one starts to go where I don't want him too, one click stops him, he turns to look at me & he comes right back with the command "come". Actually, after just a couple days use, now all I have to do is show them the device & they stop barking in the house or car. This has been the best idea besides the can of air (used for cleaning keyboards. That sound works just as great.). But as I said, it doesn't work on all dogs. Also, if another dog is walking by & all 3 of my yappers are barking, it won't stop them. But overall, these are great. I first had one of the expensive blue sonic sound devices before buying these. They are identical in all ways except color. You don't need to spend more for the name brand ones. I have now bought 6 of these. 2 I gave to my daughter for her 2 little girls. I keep my 5 by the doors, in the car for the park & by my bed. As I said, usually all I have to do is reach for it & they stop barking for unnecessary things. I keep forgetting to try it out when someone comes to the door however...

Depends on the dog
Well, for the primary use, they work well. I open a window and point this at the neighbor's dog which likes to bark right on the other side of the privacy fence. This spot is the common front fenceline that faces the street. It just happens also to be right outside a bedroom of my house. This almost always stops that dog's barking, and it usually runs around to the other side of the neighbor's house (if it still wants to bark at whatever) or just goes back to lounging in their backyard. So in most cases, the barking stops right away. Those neighbors were taking care of another dog for awhile, and this device had no effect on the second dog. So for me, it mostly does what I got it for, so 4 stars. Not 5 stars because - they have a problem. I have bought 5 of these. They don't last long. Maybe a year or two. I took one of the dead ones apart to maybe see if there's anything I could fix. The switch inside had corroded away. It's a tiny thing soldered onto a little circuit board. So - it may or may not work for any particular dog, but it's cheap enough to try. I have tried much more expensive devices that are less effective (or not at all) for that particular dog. I am upset with a manufacturer that uses such a junky component, whose failure ruins an otherwise effective device.

AMAZING Stopped 12 year old yapper with two clicks
We have (had ) a little white yapper that we called the "hello goodbye" police. Anytime anyone left or entered the house or the phone rang or a squirrel showed up he yapped. We have used the citronella collar, yelling, squirt bottle to no avail. Got the repeller yesterday, inserted the battery, the dog started barking at the squirrel, I said "quiet" hit the button, he looked at me with a strange look and stopped. Later my husband walked in the door, he (dog) started a minimal bark, I said "Quiet" hit the button, same look, and no more barking. Since those two times he has not barked at all the usual times he would have barked. Stranger showed up at the door today and I was ready to use the repeller and I did not have to. I am totally amazed. If this stops working I will update my post, but right now I am in heaven. Thank You! I buy a lot of things from amazon and don't leave reviews but I just had to review this product.

BEST ANTIBARK SYSTEM
We have three dogs that bark a lot. If one starts then they all jump in and it can be difficult to get them quiet because they cannot hear commands over the sound. This has been a life saver. Putting collars on all three dogs would be expensive and inconvenient. With these we can just hit the button and give the quiet command and they all settle down. We have also used it a little for correction like when our lab mix gets in the garbage or our doxie gets a little too interested in the rabbit. My only critique is I wish it had some kind of connection point or strap. Its inconvenient to walk around holding the device and would be nice if could strap it to belt or hang around neck.

VERY headstrong rescue Labrador
My lab has been professionally trained. That being said she's so incredibly exuberant there are still some issues. She definitely hears or feels something she doesn't like when I use this. It's been very effective when she's mildly to somewhat excited--has all but eliminated the jumping on guests--she even responds just seeing the unit. It hasn't been effective when she's in full on melt down mode like when approaching another dog on a hiking trail. Would recommend to people to try

the price is good, and it could work fine for working near ...
Dog ignores it. The sound is not so intense. I had one before from the brand dazer and it was more powerful. It does not come with the clip to fasten it to your pants or belt so you need to hold it all the time or place it in. Your pocket. Other than that, the price is good, and it could work fine for working near a dog, nut not so much for distance. I tried for stop barking of my dog from 40 feet and it didn't work. However, when using within 3 feet the dog reacts to it.

These work well on our guard dogs, to keep them at bay from our UPS or FedEx guys. It was our FedEx guy that actually led me to these. He has one that he carries in his truck. Now, on our dogs, again - they work well. However, it does nothing for my father-n-law's lab and chihuahua. Guess it's just a 50/50 chance you take.

Inoperable Unit in Two Pack
The product works, however, we got the two pack and the first unit did not work. The light came on but the dog was unresponsive. We used the same battery in the other unit and the dog immediately responded and continues to be responsive. Be aware if the dog does not seem to be responsive, it may be the unit not the animal.
