I love this thing. It’s great for small jobs, and definitely easy for beginners. I’ve been using these to create tokens with QR codes to our church Facebook page. So far I’m getting consistently readable burns. There are however some downsides.The Good:-engraves/burns well, especially on wood. I’ve also used it on some fabric and it shows up nice (as long as it’s a lighter color fabric obviously).-Bluetooth connection to my phone means I can monitor the status of my engrave/burn while being up and about in the house.-its small form factor means It doesn’t take up a ton of space, which is important if your like me and you have more tools and toys than you do sense.-let’s face it, the main reason I got this laser engraver instead of another was that it was the cheapest option.The Bad:-engravings/burns can vary by about a millimeter, which makes it difficult to do a second pass. (See first line of text in second photo)-because of the variation (see previous bullet point) you can’t engrave/burn all the way to the edge of something without going over said edge.-the locking plate that comes with it is, in my opinion, useless. It wiggles around to much, which makes the name “locking plate” a misnomer. I had to make my own locking plate so that I could get a consistent engraving/burn.-it takes FOREVER to engrave/burn coated metal. I think a single dog tag took a couple of hours. Obviously this will vary depending upon the detail of your design.-they hide the PC software, for some weird reason. In order to get it, you download the mobile app, and then in the menu of the app there’s a “PC Software” option. It then asks for your email and sends you a link to the download. Very sketchy, and not worth it in the end since the PC Software was awful. Stick with the app.-they include patterns for cutting out assembled figures, but I’m not sure how that would work. Even at 90% power, it only engraved/burned the wood panels that came with it. I can’t see this thing cutting through anything other than paper and thin fabric, which won’t work well for figures.Recommendation:If you’re new to laser engraving like me, this is pretty plug and play. Once I made my own locking plate, I was able to get consistent engravings/burns within a millimeter. As long as your wanting to do simple engravings/burns this should work for you.

This is a great little engraver! I've bought two and love them. One started acting erratically after about 8 months but the company responded to my problem and quickly replaced it. Yes, this is a little slower than other more powerful engraver, but quite cheaper and very easy to use. Choose an image, align it on the grid, start it up and walk away. If you need faster through-put, buy more than one, like I did. Makes great gifts. Great for beginners. Very pleased with product and company. Very highly recommended.

This is a bogus product that simply cannot engrave.

It's an excellent toy but nothing more. You can adjusting the laser focus under a few seconds, but is not easy to access the nob if you have a mans hand. The software works flawlessly on Samsung S21, but again if you used any higher end cnc software you will realize it is lacking lots of basic futures underlined basic futures. This unit is using linear rail guide system with ball screw driven by a tiny stepper motor or sort therefor is about 1cm/sec when its rapid traveling but is way less when its engraving. I did not time this number just gestimating. Compared to : my big laser which engraves at 18-24meter/min 4572inch/ minute ( its also way to big 60x120 inches work space its not suitable for the labels). so I thought get one of these. I purchased this engraver to make tags for clothing line and it was a mistake, it just takes forever, I guess I did not read the fine lines. Even if you engraving txt only a few lines of txt lets say brand name size style takes over a minute to engrave, but I have to gave it to the creators, everything came out crisps. Aline the material is a pain as well, what I did: I put down blue tape on the base plate along x an y axis so the tag can placed at same location quickly, over and over same at location.Other test I ran is engraving a 1.5x1.5 picture again details are very good engraving time is not so,it took over 2.5 hrs on anodized aluminum. So if you wanna tag/engrave your own gadgets up to about 4x4" its an ok unit very slow process, create your art work and let it run, on what ever (almost). Its not terrible at all just slow So its more like a toy for kids or small tasks. I wont return it just gave it to the kids to toy with and I have get something faster better for my task

Easy to assemble and start engraving. The app has limited preloaded graphics, but I quickly learned how to draw graphics with my Cricut, photograph them with my phone and engrave. For the price, it's a great beginner tool.

After reading some reviews I was skeptical to buy this since nice I wanted it to engrave dog tags. Please note: you have to use coated tags for it to work. Even then, there is a spray you can use to coat the tags that are not coated to engrave. Make sure to read thoroughly before reading bad reviews lol. Can’t wait to create other items.

Me encanto

Out of the box, the power adapter when connected to the machine didn't power up the machine. I had to plug it into my computer to get it to turn on. I have emailed and have tried everything they suggested and the unit still doesn't turn on with just the power supply connected. I will be returning the defective unit.
