Marco Polo Mild Ajvar Red Pepper Spread, 19.3 oz

Love Ajvar. I used to get it when I lived in NYC. But, had no idea where to find it when I moved to FT. Worth. Tried plenty of groceries and none ever even heard of it. Thanks to Amazon, I found it here. This is the same awesome taste that I remember. Unique, and hard to describe, but it is basically eggplant mixed with hot peppers, and some spices, roasted, blended, and severed as a spread over just about anything you want, starting with breakfast over eggs, added to any type of bread, onto lunch as a perfect condiment to a sandwich with or without meat –– good on veggies as well as any meat –– on to dinner, you name it, it taste delicious on it. Toast pointes with mozzarella, a cherry tomato and a dash of Ajvar, and you're living like a king. (Or queen)

I love this product-on crackers or chips. Only complaint is that the jar is extremely difficult to open!

I've had some very good restaurant dishes with roasted pepper (cream) sauces, but have a devil of a time finding a pre-made one on the shelves. This works pretty well. (Have to add to it for a creamy sauce.). Good consistency, less acidic than tomato sauce. I would think of using it the way I use tomato sauce -- a base for whatever flavoring I want to add rather than a finished custom sauce. If you like a pepper sauce, this is a good kitchen staple.

I bought this for my hummus, they never have enough of the red pepper and this tastes the same to me. Product arrived perfect no leaks seal was intact, good quality product

This product is awfully hot! Thank goodness I didn't use it like a tomato sauce in my spaghetti! With only adding 2 Tablespoons to a sauce, it was almost too spicy for me. I wanted something to replace tomato sauce as I seem to react to it but this will not work!
