Green Bell Grooming Scissors G-2102 Mustache Beard Trimming Japan

After looking at dozens of offerings for beard and/or mustache scissors, there were many claiming Japanese or German "steel." It turns out nearly all are made in China or Pakistan, information usually buried. Finally I found these which to my amazement cost less than most of those off-brand products. These are actually made in Japan and are of impressive quality. As a guy with big hands, it's another plus that there is plenty of room in the finger holes. Since there is virtually no English on the package, I ran the insert card through a translator program that confirms some product characteristics. The micro serrations are very practical when trying to sniff, say, a single hair. Very satisfactory indeed. Easily cuts straggler hairs at a precise position, which is the most challenging part of the job for a scissors in my experience. Excellent yet economical design, really nicely executed. The blade is made especially for cutting hair with a precise pattern of serrations along the edge that capture hairs and don't allow them to slide out as a normal smooth edge does. A great value at $13. The blades are stamped stainless steel, which is part of why they can produce it at this price point. This is similar to how Victorinox blades are produced, so it produces a fine quality blade. The joint is screwed, not riveted, so easily adjusted after extended use but no adjustment at all required as delivered. The interior edges of the finger holes are not eased as much as they might be, which means it might be uncomfortable to use for an extended period, but I'm only ever using it for a minute or two at a time and those edges could be made more comfortable with some needle file work or perhaps some fine gauge split tubing if you used them all day in a barber shop or something. These were the very best I could find after a substantial search and at a terrific price. I would definitely do it again and recommend.

True Japanese attention to detail and quality craftsmanship. Love these for doing fine trimming of my beard, mustache, eyebrows. Small but ergonomic. Will probably last a lifetime.

Scissors are very sharp and cut very accurately. I use them to trim my mustache and they work very well for that purpose. The only downside is the bow or what is usually called the hollowed parts of the handle that you use with your fingers is surrounded by bare metal which is not ergonomically shaped. The result is that it limits the amount of time that you can cut without it causing pain to your fingers. Bottom line: I would still buy them again. They are worlds apart from the other "mustache scissors" advertised on Amazon in quality and sharpness.

I use for trimming moustache and have found them to be excellent. Just a little more expensive than poor, run-of-the-mill products, so well worth the little bit extra. It's sad that world class Sheffield manufacturers are no longer there to compete.
