## Description

Designed as per the prevailing industry standards, it scores high on the aspect of utility. The quality material used in its construction makes it durable.

Review: I like it - I’m no audiophile (I guess), but yes, once I swapped out the stock power cable for this one, my sub sounded just a tad cleaner and tighter. And that’s as far as that is going to go. Appears to be very sturdy and well made with a very snug connectivity on both ends and that’s always a good thing when you’re talking about power. I bought a second subwoofer and a second one these power cables without thinking. I like these. Cons? Could be a bit longer but keeping electrical power traveling as short a distance as possible is good.
Review: Very nice power cords for the money - I installed 2 of these in my system. 1 on my amp and the other on my CD/DAC. I also installed a 2 meter WAudio cable at the same time on my pre-amp's power supply. As the CD/DAC is only a week old and I also changed all my interconnects recently, I probably will never really be able to tell if the power cords really make any difference to the sound. It will take weeks yet before the system settles down and all the cables, cords and the CD/DAC complete their burn-in. The only way to really know would be to do some swapping of the old and the new cords in a couple of months and see if there is any noticeable difference. What I seemed to hear immediately after installing them was deeper, tighter, more powerful bass. Not crazy amounts but noticeable. I think this can safely be considered as due to the power cords. Workmanship is excellant and the cords are visually very nice. I think they are heavier than really necessary unless you want to weld with them. :) The connectors seem to be solid copper and are not plated. The only negative notes are that as the plugs are rather massive, I had trouble trying to flip the power switch on the CD/DAC as the plug was covering most of it. Due to the size of the wires, the cable is a little stiff and also hard to twist to get the plugs into receptacles. All in all, I think these are a bargain and I'd recommend them to anyone that doesn't want to drop $500 on a power cord.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Isn't this snake oil?**
A: Not necessarily. Under certain conditions with bass-heavy music/effects a cord of inadequate gauge can affect SQ. But this doesn't mean you need to spend a fortune--now that's snake oil. From a very useful and clear article on power cords in Audioholics:
https://www.audioholics.com/audio-video-cables/power-cables
"Let's say that we have a badly undersized power cord, and are playing bass-heavy music on a power amp. The bass draws down the filter capacitor, and the power supply draws current to try to replenish that charge; however, the more current the supply demands, the lower its impedance, and with an undersized power cord, this means that the supply voltage drops. If the voltage drop is strong enough, the filter capacitor will not fully charge up on the next cycle of high voltage, and this means a reduced supply voltage to the amplifier circuits. This phenomenon will occur in direct relationship to how much of this loud bass is being produced, and what does that mean? The bass note is now modulating the entire output of the amplifier which can in turn increase intermodulation distortion.

"Now, this is an unusual scenario. There are any number of reasons why, in any particular system, it may not happen. The filter capacitor may be amply sized; the power cord may be of perfectly adequate gauge; the power supply may be delivering a slightly high voltage into a regulator anyhow and so the voltage fluctuations are stopped at the regulator. But if the factors are all right, it is indeed possible for a power cord to have a negative impact upon sound quality.

"But what would fix this? The answer, of course, is simply that a power cord of adequately large gauge would fix it, if anything will. If that won't fix it, the problem is in the power supply design and no power cord, of any sort, is going to help. No exotic design, full of silver conductors, braided wires, shielding, Teflon, or what-have-you, is going to help resolve this sort of problem any better than any other cord of similar gauge because the one and only problem is that the resistance of the cord is too high."

**Q: will it work with 220v?**
A: The plugs on this cable are not pinned for any form of 220 volt power. Perhaps the manufacturer has a 220 volt version. It might be worth your time to ask them.

**Q: Anyone power their computer (music source) with this power cord? i bought 3 (subwoofer, preamp, dac) and noticed a positive improvement right away.**
A: I get the best effect using a HiFi Audiophile Power Cord with Red Copper or Gold prongs for my computers power supply, it improves the sound nicely and makes it wider and more realistic in nature compared to using an upgraded quality black 14awg power cord from tripp lite or someone. The sound is dramatically improved using HiFi Audiophile Power Cord in comparison to using a black 18awg power cord from any manufacturer.

**Q: What is this cables female end type? named please. my cables female end is a c13 - does not have the bottom notch. will this fit?**
A: It's a C14 you will need a C13 to C14 adapter
