My sons puppy Tweedle (Not Dee) is black Golden Doodle. We live in the country with not a light in sight, so I tend to worry that she jumped our electric fence, because of course she doesn't answer when she is called. I could go looking for her, but she is black, and it's black out and I wouldn't find her anyway. NOT ANYMORE! She's as lit up as a holiday gone wrong in all of her glory out there glowing like a neon sign. This sweet beacon charged in no time and I really only put it on her a few times each night (Not extended periods), so I have yet to recharged it and it's been a few days. I am not above re-editing this post if it poos out on me in a week or so and I loose her to the darkness again. So until then, I firmly believe this was well worth the money!

We walk our pup at night a lot and she likes to explore a bit and an occasional car comes by so we worry about her being visible. I think we found a great product with this collar! We do not use it as a collar to attach a leash we only use it for the light and we are very happy. Although it has a battery pack its relatively light and the brightness is awesome! I charged it a few hours after we received and have walked about 3 hours with it and still seems fully charged. So far all good and I would recommend this product for anyone looking to provide some safety for their dog. Elsa is 86 pound golden retriever and we got the large size in pink for more light and to have plenty of slack. The pink is actually red looking so I like it bright and red. Its plenty big I had to take an inch in on the adjustment and its still loose but that is how I prefer it. The medium might have been fine but I think a little tight. If they in fact donate to animal causes all the better thank you!

This collar is great. We got the green color. It's bright and it has different settings to have the light blink slow or fast. I got the size large cuz I thought the collar could adjust a bit but it doesn't adjust at all. The collar is a little to big for him but we use a different collar to walk him anyways so this is just a light up collar so he can be seen in the dark while we walk. I do love that it's chargeable. I'm only giving it 4 stars because it doesn't adjust.Updated March 21, 2017...The collar does adjust! Thank you for letting know that the fibre optics are strong because I thought it was going to break, it didn't and now it fits my dog...I seriously love this collar!

Update: 2/27/19I heard back from Shine For Dogs after contacting them about my 2nd defective collar. I told them about my concerns with the design of the battery housing/charging port (explained below in my original review) and asked if they were working on any of these issues or planning a redesign. They responded to say they were refunding my second purchase, but did not answer my questions, acknowledged my concerns or that there is a problem with their product. Unfortunately for the shelter dogs, I would not recommend this collar. I'd rather donate directly to my local shelter any money i save by buying a better collar, not to mention save space in the landfills. 1 star for the collar itself (durable, no fraying). I did find another collar, on Amazon, by Masbrill, that is basically the same as this one except the battery housing/charging port is a much better design and it holds a charge forever. So to help our pups stay safe, I'd look into that company.Original review:Yes, this collar is a wonderful product for any family whose dog is outside at night. It is bright, adjustable and rechargeable vs changing batteries.BUT... It does not last. I have purchased 2 of these in less than a year. The second one would not hold a charge for more than an hour, with having charged it all day and turning it on only when she was outside. It died in less than a month. I did contact Shine For Dogs, and they generously supplied me with a new one, free of charge. That was in late November, it is now dead, less than 3 months later.I am all for keeping my dog (and neighbors driving down the road!) safe, not using tons of batteries, and supporting shelter animals, but I also would like a product that lasts. I don't feel these collars were misused and therefore broken...I feel they have a major design flaw. The button/battery housing and the charging port are not well designed. The cord is not easy to remove when done charging. I feel like I will rip the cords out of the collar trying to disconnect it sometimes. I do think this caused the connection to become faulty on the most recent collar I received. It would only charge if I held it a certain way while connected. Also, the wiring from the battery is exposed! This was the problem with our first one. After 6 months of use they became worn through and disconnected. I contacted Shine For Dogs again last week about these issues and have yet to hear from them other than to say they need my Amazon order number to continue.Overall, i wanted this to work out. We rely on a product like this but i will now have to go with a different brand. As of right now I would not recommend this for anyone with active animals that go out all the time, or anyone who doesn't want to keep adding to the landfills. Maybe if the design changes, I'd give it another try.

We got this for our blue nose pitbull because we kept tripping over him in the dark. It works perfectly for this! We bought the blue one and while it is very bright, it does not hurt your eyes to look at it. It has a couple of settings to make it flash but we keep the light solid. You only need to charge this for about 30 minutes and it lasts most of the night. The only thing I would say is that it's not very easy to adjust the collar because of the lights. We got size L and it was a bit too big for him (he's about 65 lbs) but since we aren't using this collar to walk him, we just slip it on and off without unhooking it.

Love these collars! I've purchased a green one, a red one and a pink one. Took off one star because the pink and red lights are indistinguishable from each other. However, put the star back on simply because I love these collars. They are clearly visible, even with their fur covering them. And I love that they are rechargeable. Do wish they were water proof but you can't have everything. Also wish they came in a smaller size. I purchased a different brand for my small dog, and was disappointed that a charge didn't last long (only turn them on for walks or short potty breaks in the yard at night, so they're not used that much). I'd buy her one of these in a heartbeat if they made them in a small.I really like that they shine so brightly that it shows right through the surrounding fur on their necks and lights up the area around them. Not only is it safer to walk, but when I let them out in the yard I can easily keep tabs on them. No more sneaking off the property because they know I can't see them!
