Well when it come to a guitar strap I have to Say comfort is important.
This is a nice piece of leather a little thin in a way but I nice piece. I like the strap that sits well on the shoulder to displace the weight well. I am looking forward to the time that the is broken and the leather has softened as we all know that new leather is hard and tough but as you wear it. It starts to soften. I am a large man and the nice thing is that it is well done in length also. I do believe that it can be tooled to add some designs to it. but it does seem a bit thin to do that. But it does seem to be ridged enough. It is a lot of bang for your buck. You are hard fast to go to the leather store and pick up the leather itself and make your own for this price. It is well worth it.

Great value, but not really a great strap
I've bought a lot of Perris straps through the years. This one caught my eye because the price was so low. I got two. But I have to say that they're a bit disappointing. The leather is very stiff, and frankly feels more like cardboard than leather. I'm not sure they will wear very well -- they feel like I could easily tear them in half -- but time will tell. As the other reviewers point out, this is a very low price for a leather strap, and I can't complain about the value. However, I won't plan to get more of this style in the future. I will stick with the higher end products. I'll put these on a couple of practice guitars and see how they do. If they miraculously wear-in and become the straps of my dreams, I'll update this review. Likewise if they tear apart in normal use. But I'm guessing they'll do the job.

Stiff along width, soft along length, nice thickness, has a bothersome smell
Purchased to have a strap for a rarely used bass. Stiffer than I had hoped for. I decided to try and help it loosen up. So I put it in the dryer on no heat for an hour. Did not loosen up but now dryer has a custom interior design with all the black marks the strap left behind. I have to hang it outside as the smell causes me some breathing issues. Looks like it may have been a bad purchase for me. Sure does not smell like leather but, I am sure it is leather. Sad will likely purchase a different strap and try to find some appropriate use for this strap. No I would not purchase again!

Strong, will last forever
The strap is fine and because is is wide, it makes a heavy guitar feel tolerable. I only gave it three stars because the material, the leather, is pretty course, and I would recommend the ends where it actually touches the guitar be smoothed out a bit. Other than that, it is well made, and should last a very long time.

best 3.5” leather strap for the price
as a gigging guitarist who plays 4 hours a night having a 3.5” wide strap is essential. I bought the least expensive all leather thick strap and they came in today. the guitar strap is strong leather and it was not difficult to get my Dunlap strap locks to install. the price was absolutely amazing so I bought two. the strap is exactly what i needed for my Explorer type guitars and my standard Les Paul and Strat types. these are what all straps should be like - thick string and i have confidence it will not ever fail.

Very comfortable, holds guitar securely. Excellent value.
The strap is plain - no padding, no extra decorations or seams, made from two separate solid strips of leather as shown in the picture accompanying the product. The loops at both ends are well cut, not too big, and took some effort to slip over the strap buttons on my PRS, which means they will not easily slip off. The strap is relatively thin compared with other leather straps (~3/32"-1/8") but is still very comfortable without any padding because it is so wide (3.5"). With other straps 2.5-3" I usually feel it cut into my shoulder as soon as I stand up with the guitar. Another thing I like about it is that it is thin enough to fit onto the strap buttons together with the rubber-disk type strap locks that I use (I don't like the kind that you have to screw into the guitar body). I am writing that after having used it for only 30 minutes, but that was long enough to determine that I liked it. I will follow up with a long term impression, maybe after I've tried it with a Les Paul.

Not top quality leather, but excellent value
You aren't going to find a lot of 3.5" straps at this price. I like Perri's straps for their value. The leather is not top quality, but what do you expect for this price? I certainly wasn't expecting anything better. I did work it in like a baseball glove and it's developed a nice texture and softened fairly well. For the price I'd certainly buy it again. With similar straps costing upwards of $30 it's a bargain for a decent product.

VERY satisfied!!!
The strap is great! I’m 6‘4“, and the strap fits well. However, I like to wear my guitar high. I use the strap on my acoustic guitar, which is a full size acoustic. I like the strap so well that I ordered a second. The strap comes with an extender, but the extender is not long enough to wear the guitar low, at least for me. If you’re tall and need to wear your guitar low, then you will need to get a different extender. Extenders can be bought separately.
