Decided to buy the official part this time and right off the bat it was noticeably better quality. Installation was a breeze, it slipped right on without fuss and fixed the leak first try. Better experience than the knockoff seal, which I recall being more rigid and difficult to get on. Time will tell if it holds out better but I have faith it will because the material does not feel like something that would degrade in water, unlike the previous knockoff I had tried.
