Simplicity and Profundity - Endless Nuggets of Wisdom
I’ve known Odetta for over 15 years. She has played a key role in my development as a professional. She is a repository of wisdom and one who uses every opportunity/situation to either learn or to teach. I looked forward to our talks when we shared the same employer and wondered how that void would be filled when she decided to pursue her dreams.I may not have been there when the idea of this book was conceived but I had a front row seat during the ‘pregnancy’. I watched as the embryo developed and was privileged to see how the process unfolded until birth took place. I am excited about this product because of who wrote it - a genuine lady who wants everyone to succeed. I am overjoyed by why it was written, as it provides a blueprint to obtain wealth - not financial but holistic wealth. I connect with what was written, as it was done from a place of vulnerability with no holds barred. I absolutely love how the book was written, as every reader can appreciate the simplicity yet profundity of the nuggets of wisdom shared. In the Bible, Phillip was asked by Nathanael (referring to Jesus), can any good thing come out of Nazareth? We hear so much of the negative things coming out of my country and some may be asking, can any good thing come out of Jamaica? I’m shouting at the top of my lungs - YES!Odetta, you are a fantastic person who exude excellence in the person you are and the things you do. This book stands as a product that is comparable to the best of the best anywhere. Thank you for sharing this work of literary art with the world but at the same time speaking directly to me.

Empowering conversation - will you do the work necessary to be EXTRAORDINARY?
This is a compelling book, grounded in practical wisdom primarily for women. Odetta has aptly used the word "tragedy" to describe her life experiences which are the foundation of her "lessons". Sadly, these tragedies are so universal, you may find yourself saying "me too!"When you contemplate the number of punches sustained in one lifetime, and her rising above them to visible success, you are forced to ask yourself "So What's Your Excuse?" For me that was EMPOWERING, and certainly helped to unlock the complacency which I had mislabeled as contentment.I recommend reading this through in one go...the conversational tone makes that very easy. Then, for the second read approach it lesson by lesson, using it as a journal support and an opportunity to practice forgiveness, gratitude, boundary setting and valuing yourself irrespective of the journey. Hopefully you will also have a "So What..." moment that helps you to reframe your ordinary experience, so you can strive for an extraordinary life.Full disclosure: I am casually acquainted with Odetta as we share mutual friends. However, given our fast moving times the social conversations cannot be expected to plumb the depths of this book. Which begs the question: when will we women accept that we are surrounded by soul sisters on the journey? I'll share that on the ground here in Jamaica the Fortune 500 company is known, and Odetta's manner is open and nurturing, while being decidedly firm. The book has authentically captured her persona...and was in her own words "cathartic!".You have the opportunity to access her wisdom ....it is your choice whether you listen and act.

Excellent Book
I would recommend this book to all young African American women. This book clearly defines what you can do if you chose the right path and embrace everything that is positive. I am a senior citizen, after reading this book, I have forgiven some issues in my past and opened my mind to more possibilities. Thank you Odette. I wish I had read this book twenty years ago. I have recommended it to my granddaughter.

Wonderfully executed self help book!
I would recommend this book to any and everyone as it is a true compilation of life lessons learnt and why there should be no regrets when looking at our past; our regrets or mistakes as we may call them are what helps to mold us into who we are today and most importantly our future selves.
